Kelly D. Foote, M.D. – Foote trained at UF. He joined the UF faculty in 2002 where he helped to build a world leading movement disorder center.
Doctor Elad Levy joined the faculty in 2004 after completing his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery at the University at Buffalo.
Didier Rajon, Ph.D. – Rajon earned his Ph.D. at UF. He joined UF Neurosurgery in 2005 after a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship with Bova.
Brian L. Hoh, M.D. – Hoh trained at Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard) and joined UF in 2006.
Levy along with Vice Chairman, Adnan Siddiqui, who joined the department in 2007, continued to focus on stroke care and research.
He joined the UF faculty in 2008 as an endovascular expert.
In January 2009, former resident Doctor Jody Leonardo joined the faculty after completing a minimally invasive endoscopic intracranial fellowship in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
In November 2009, Doctor Plunkett had the pleasure of attending the opening of Tuzla’s newest hospital-a project over 15 years in the making.
He joined Brian Hoh’s lab in 2010.
Additionally, former resident and endovascular fellow, Kenneth Snyder MD PhD, formally joined the department in 2011.

Doctor Dimopoulos completed a minimally invasive spine fellowship at the University at Miami in 2013 and therefore added further knowledge of the study and treatment of spinal pathologies.
The treatment of complex disorders of the spine was aided by the addition of John Pollina in 2013.
In 2013, these funds were used to recruit Duane Mitchell, M.D., Ph.D. and his team to UF. The translational research team, which has now grown to over 100 members, is focused on first in human brain tumor immunotherapy for malignant brain tumors.
She joined UF neurosurgery in 2013.
His appointment was soon followed by the addition of Vassilios Dimopoulos in October 2014.
In 2014, Levy was appointed editor of the endovascular section for Neurosurgery, the official journal of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
He completed post-doc training in Canada and at UF. In 2014 he joined the UF faculty where his research is focused the genetic characterization of brain tumors and immune responses.

He has served as Residency Program Director since 2015.
In 2015, he joined UF Neurosurgery as Chief of Neuro-Oncology.
She joined the UF faculty in 2016.
As of July 2017, UBNS has broadcast more than 25 endovascular and spine procedures worldwide to 11 countries and numerous neurosurgical meetings, some of which UBNS was the only center asked to transmit live cases due to their expertise.
Doctor Dimopoulos left UBNS in September 2017.
In late 2017, Doctor Jonathan Riley joined the group from Philadelphia, PA and whose specialty lies in functional neurosurgery, he would soon head the Comprehensive Movement Disorders Center.
He played a major role in convincing the Shands Hospital Board to build the Neuromedicine Hospital which opened in 2018.
He did a postdoc at UF (under Brent Reynolds). He joined the UF faculty in 2018.
Shortly thereafter in 2018, Doctor Richard Spiro was hired from Pittsburgh, PA to become the Director of Spine Trauma at Erie County Medical Center.
In 2019, UBNS opened its Comprehensive Neuroscience Center, a state of the art outpatient facility that houses neurosurgery, chiropractic, and interventional pain management all under one roof.
He joined UF neurosurgery in 2019 as part of the UF Comprehensive Spine Center.
Matthew A. Decker, M.D. – Decker trained at UF. He joined the faculty in 2020.
He returned to UF in 2020.
