The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment and collaborating with Law Operations colleagues to support legal matters across the Company's midstream operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide Effective Legal Services. Generate qualitatively superior legal analysis, work product, and advice. Provide legal advice and services that are relevant, practical, and meaningful to business units. Become an integral partner to the Company's business units, understanding business strategies and commercial objectives. * Contract Drafting and Support. Support the Company's business units in defining and executing practical contracting strategies aimed at supporting commercial objectives. Work creatively and proactively with legal colleagues and the Company's business units to identify opportunities for commercially advantageous risk allocation in contracts. Support resolutions of commercial contract disputes in-house without the use of outside counsel. * Legal Counseling and Training. Identify and implement proactive approaches to counseling business units on a variety of legal topics, including contract language interpretation, negotiation strategies, risk allocation, and statutory and regulatory obligations and compliance. Be an active and creative participant in the Law Organization's formal legal training program. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * JD degree from an accredited US law school * Current license to practice law in applicable states in which company has operations * Minimum of 3-years of relevant experience * Experience in the midstream or downstream energy industry preferred. * Experience as in-house or transactional counsel is preferred. * Legal experience in one or more of the following is preferred but not required: * FERC * Pipeline transportation services agreements; terminal services agreements; storage agreements; dedication agreements; connection agreements; pipeline tariffs; easement and surface use agreements; bills of sale; lease agreement * Agreements for goods or services (Supply Chain) SKILLS: * Ability to identify complex problems and effectively partner with clients to develop, evaluate, and implement solutions * Ability to juggle multiple matters and effectively prioritize work to ensure completion in a timely and efficient manner * Strong people skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude. Supervises the career counselors and non-residential specialist to ensure the delivery of counseling services are provided to residential and non-residential students in areas of personal and social development, career development, and behavior. Duties: Directs, leads, trains, coaches, and mentors the counseling team. Interviews and recommends for hire, disciplines, and evaluates performance of the direct report staff. Oversight of ongoing, structured, scheduled, and documented individual social development and adjustment counseling and career counseling. Oversight of the Career Management Team (CMT). Oversight of group support sessions. Oversight of support services to include Unauthorized Absence retrieval. Collaborates with all center departments to provide comprehensive coordinated services. Maintains a current detailed listing for community resources for student referrals. Serves as a member of committees to review policies and procedures relating to the counseling program and the Center's operation as directed. Serves on the Interdisciplinary Team and arranges Reasonable Accommodations. as appropriate. Reviews Student Safety Assessment with department and develops plan for improvement. Ensure all the My Pathway to Achieving Career Excellence Plan (MyPACE) is implemented and followed up on as required and obtain the Center Director or senior management approval for each plan. Oversees the Evaluation of Student Progress (ESP's) system; ensures all requirements are met including the updating of the Pathway Achievement Record (PAR), development of strategies and identifying for students to attain academic credentials and industry-recognized certifications; identifying personal strengths and career challenges; resolution of personal issues affecting career readiness; assessing transitional support needs. Oversight of counseling services provided to new arrivals throughout Career Preparation Period (CPP). Oversight of student transition from Career Development Period to Career Transition readiness. Conducts monthly audits of student files, case notes, MyPACE Career Plans and PARs to ensure compliance with all counseling requirements. Provide opportunities for Professional Development for department and all center staff. Follows all center plans including the Career Development Services System (CDSS) Plan and Behavior Management Plan. Meets weekly with Center Mental Health Consultant. Meets monthly with academic instructors, career technical instructors, student Personnel officer, and residential living supervisors to coordinate services and resolve issues. Conducts weekly staff meeting. Works to meet performance management goals. Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices. Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures. Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate career success standards. Participates in PRH mandated staff training.
