Cons of working at University Hospitals

At least in my department, management training was non-existent. My immediate manager had never been in a management role before and turned out to be a cruel micromanager. I had to file a complaint.

Pros of working at University Hospitals

I was proud to work for UH because of their commitment to providing outstanding professional care above anything else. The work was fulfilling. The caregivers I worked with were patient and kind.

University Hospitals benefits

Access to many locations offering compassionate healthcare.

What do you like best about University Hospitals's CEO and the leadership team?

He is committing to providing healthcare to the people regardless of their ability to pay. And he is acutely aware of health inequities in minority and rural communities.

Clearing out toxic leadership at the department level.

How did you prepare for the University Hospitals interview?

I read about the institution, its history and core values. Then I practiced answers for difficult questions that are bound to arise.

I think my compensation was on par with the national average after considering regional differences.

What's the diversity at University Hospitals like?

They definitely need more diversity at the top. Also, some departments have very few if any minorities.

What brings you the most joy at University Hospitals?

Writing stories that honor people's medical experiences.
