Prepares patient for procedure 100% of the time by explaining procedure according to age-specific needs to gain cooperation, minimize anxiety, and optimize desired results.
Positions patient in accordance with established protocols or approved physician instructions, employing immobilization devices, as reviewed in random critiques of images by radiologist or QC Technologist.
Determines proper and satisfactory ultrasound technique - appropriate probes, reviews random images/studies by radiologist or Chief Technologist for quality control.
Verified informed consent where required 100% of the time, as indicated by retrospective reviews of consent form presence in the chart for specific special procedures - biopsy exams.
The technologist will ensure 100% of the time that all procedures performed by him/her are “completed” in the RIS system and “verified” in PACS after the study is complete and finalized. No more than 3 un - “completed” studies will be allowed in any 12-month period, as verified by review of RIS management reports.
With conditions permitting as defined by the lead tech, each technologist is expected to perform and complete and average of 8-10 routine exams over the course of an eight-hour shift 100% of the time, as verified by RIS management reports.

Five (5) years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, Epic system support, or IT analysis.
Strong knowledge of Epic Revenue Cycle modules, including Resolute Professional/ Hospital Billing, Cadence, and Prelude.
Proven experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and process optimization. Ability to analyze complex workflows and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

The expected salary range for this position is PS-30S: $89,754.00 - $108,480.00 - $129,432.00 per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

About the Role
The primary purpose of the Physician Assistant position while under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician is to assist in direct patient care, obtain and record medical data, provide counseling and patient education, and assist in those tasks delineated for physician assistants.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Assist in direct patient care under physician supervision
Record medical data, provide counseling, and patient education
Support daily outpatient office operations and answer patient questions
Help assess patients and review medical documentation
Prepare History & Physical exams before surgery
Make daily rounds, write chart entries, and communicate with attending surgeon
Educate and counsel patients and families
Assist in surgeries, including positioning and post-op transfer
Perform wound care (dressings, sutures, drains, etc.)
Manage outpatient follow-ups and post-op testing
Collect data for approved research projects
Participate in patient support groups
Attend scientific meetings and earn CME credits
Take on flexible duties as part of the surgical team
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or a related field.
Graduation from a Physician Assistant Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
New Jersey license from the State Board of Medical Examiners - Physician Advisory Committee.
Prior experience in clinical medicine is preferred.
All requirements must be met prior to employment with University Hospital.
BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certifications are required.
