Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. **A caregiver in this position works days/on-call requirements, from 8:30am-5:00pm or 7:00am-3:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform radiology exams and fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages. + Perform ED/surgical procedures (trauma cases, fluoroscopic exams to include vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatrics, and general procedures) in a sterile environment. + Produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay. + Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed. + Assist in scheduling patients. + Monitor and determine priority of patients. + Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam. + Demonstrate the care and operation of radiography equipment according to technical specifications and applications. + Assist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures. + Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately. + Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and radiology students. + Continually strive to learn new technical information and skills through attending periodic in-service programs and participating in professional affiliation sessions. + Rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities and locations as needed.
