At least in my department, management training was non-existent. My immediate manager had never been in a management role before and turned out to be a cruel micromanager. I had to file a complaint.
I was proud to work for UH because of their commitment to providing outstanding professional care above anything else. The work was fulfilling. The caregivers I worked with were patient and kind.
Access to many locations offering compassionate healthcare.
He is committing to providing healthcare to the people regardless of their ability to pay. And he is acutely aware of health inequities in minority and rural communities.
Clearing out toxic leadership at the department level.
I read about the institution, its history and core values. Then I practiced answers for difficult questions that are bound to arise.
I think my compensation was on par with the national average after considering regional differences.
They definitely need more diversity at the top. Also, some departments have very few if any minorities.
Writing stories that honor people's medical experiences.
