Pros of working at University of Alaska
Remote opportunities, but some get them granted easier than others.
Cons of working at University of Alaska
there are a lot of discrepancies in fairness among employees. Managers listen, but the action isn't really there. The pay is relatively poor for what is expected. Benefits don't cover as much as they used to and are more expensive. Getting hired is an extremely long process, and it is a month before you get your first paycheck.

Just let employees who want to work remote, be able to work remotely. Very few of us actually want to be on campus, especially when most of our office is remote.

I did my interview while working my previous job when I received no relief from my previous employer to attend the interview. So I attended via zoom while still working.

compensation is pretty low for the cost of living.

What brings you the most joy at University of Alaska?
When I don't have to come into the office to get my work done. I have a particularly insufferable office mate I have complained to management about numerous times.
