Kodiak College, a community campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education. Persons who have not completed the doctorate may be considered if they can provide evidence for a plan to complete their doctorate within three years of the hire date. This position plays a key role in supporting UAA's dual-mission identity and strengthening teacher preparation pathways across Alaska; particularly through the Teacher Apprenticeship Program and close partnerships with local school districts and statewide colleagues.
Rooted in community engagement, culturally responsive pedagogy, and high-impact practices, this program prepares early childhood educators for the state's unique and diverse communities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across all UAA campuses to advance early childhood educator pathways, align coursework to support statewide teacher workforce needs, and actively participate in the continued development and implementation of the Registered Apprenticeship Program for Teachers.
The position carries a twofold workload, typically consisting of 80% instruction and 20% professional/service engagement. The successful candidate will teach ECED courses in multiple modalities - face-to-face on Kodiak Island, online synchronous/asynchronous, and will engage in relationship-based advising, community outreach, and partnership development with the Kodiak Island Borough School District, Alutiingcut Child Care Center, USCG Base Kodiak Child Development Center, local early learning centers, and statewide Education faculty.
The ideal candidate will teach a broad range of Early Childhood Education courses; support and mentor students across certificate, AAS, and transfer pathways; and contribute to practicum supervision. This role includes active collaboration with the Teacher Apprenticeship Program, faculty across the UA system, and community and school district partners to ensure aligned curriculum, strong field placements, and workforce development. A demonstrated commitment to student success, inclusive and culturally responsive teaching, and collaboration in a small-campus environment is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Doctorate in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field. (Persons who have not completed the doctorate may be considered if they can provide evidence for a plan to complete their doctorate within three years of the hire date.)
Demonstrated experience (or strong potential) working with diverse students and culturally responsive frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching ECED courses in higher education, including in-person and online modalities.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Kodiak College campus on Kodiak Island. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. The Term Clinical AssistantProfessor of Social Work is a full-time, nine-month, bipartite (teaching and service) faculty position within the University of Alaska Fairbanks, College of liberal Arts, Social Work Program. This role supports the B.A. in Social Work degree, which is delivered through online asynchronous, distance-based Zoom, and hybrid modalities, including our rural-intensive cohort. The faculty member will teach three to four courses per semester-including SWK F103: Introduction to Social Work and upper-division 300-level major courses-while also recruiting, advising, mentoring, and supporting a diverse student population.
The successful candidate will be responsible for high-quality instruction across all program modalities; curriculum development and modification for distance delivery; and holding office hours appropriate to the courses taught. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position includes a service component involving participation in departmental, college, and university committees; community and public service activities; support of program accreditation processes; and serving as faculty advisor for at least one student organization.
To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will be a collaborative, student-centered educator with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to teaching Social Work at the university level. They will bring experience with distance-education technologies and an understanding of multicultural and rural social work practice, particularly in ways that align with CSWE accreditation standards. The ideal applicant will be able to make effective decisions under pressure, build and maintain community partnerships, and contribute positively to a diverse and collegial academic team. A commitment to multicultural values, the ability to advocate for the Social Work program and the university, and familiarity with Alaska Native or Indigenous communities are highly valued, with experience in distance teaching strongly preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of post-MSW professional social work practice in human services, behavioral health, child welfare, or related community-based settings required.
Preferred: Previous university-level teaching or training experience in social work or a closely related discipline. Experience working with Alaska Native, Indigenous, or rural populations, demonstrating cultural competence and community engagement. Experience teaching or developing distance-delivered or online coursework. Evidence of a commitment to public service and community collaboration consistent with the mission of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Successful candidates in Statistics and Data Science will have a record of research excellence, or give evidence of promising research potential, and will show a commitment to effective and engaged teaching. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate statistics courses to a diverse student body, develop a vibrant research program, supervise graduate students, provide statistical consulting to the university research community, and serve on departmental and university committees. The successful applicant will find numerous opportunities for collaboration with UAF faculty and state and federal agency scientists working in areas such as ecology, fisheries and wildlife science, geology and geophysics, engineering and mathematics education.
As a tenure-track Department member the successful candidate will teach introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses in statistics, as well as graduate courses in statistical theory and applications, to a mix of majors and non-majors. The typical teaching load will be 4 courses per 9 month academic year. Research in statistical theory and/or applications that meets national and international standards is expected, including publication of peer-reviewed articles, books, and monographs. The goal of quality research is most important, but sustained production is also expected. For applicants with an applied research area, collaboration with a broader research community is appropriate and encouraged. Presentation of research at conferences and workshops is expected, and pursuit of competitive grants is encouraged.
To thrive in this position, a candidate must be self-motivated, invested in nurturing the abilities and academic development of students at all levels, and committed to publishing research in statistics and related areas. The College of Business and Security Management (CBSM) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for adjunct Homeland Security and Emergency Management instructors for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. Adjunct faculty teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. All applicants are expected to commit to teaching excellence. Qualified candidates are expected to develop a unique and engaging curriculum. Teaching may be conducted face-to-face, online, or a hybrid of the two.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree in a related field may be required.
Demonstrated expertise in the areas of arctic security, cyber security, homeland security, homeland defense, and emergency management. Candidates with a professional certification are preferred.
Teaching experience and/or professional experience in a related field. Courses may be offered in-person or online.
Position Details:
This is a part-time position. Salary rates are $1,755.33 per credit hour; most semester-based courses are 3 credit hours for a total salary of $5,266 per course.
