To achieve this goal, the Kalbasi lab is by necessity versatile and multidisciplinary. The lab integrates cell and protein engineering, T cell immunology, cancer biology, cell signaling, genomics and early phase clinical trials. Each of these approaches has the potential to generate large datasets that require computational analytic approaches. This includes genomic sequencing data (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, TCR-seq, CITE-seq, whole exome-seq), including bulk and single cell approaches, proteomic data (e.g. phosphoproteomics, cytokine data), and some clinical data. The lab also seeks to employ AI and machine learning approaches for protein design. The Kalbasi Laboratory is seeking a Computational Biologist /Bioinformatician/Research Data Analyst 1 to manage and analyze high throughput next generation sequencing data from samples acquired from laboratory experiments, clinical trials of cancer patients, and//or publicly available data, as well as to participate in new protein design strategies using emerging AI-tools. The Neuromuscular Division of Neurology is seeking a Research Data Analyst (RDA), with clinical data management experience to utilize knowledge from research tools to conduct and analyze research data assuring efficiency and regulatory compliance; collect, compile and perform statistical analysis, data reports and management. The division is eager to determine novel approaches towards quantifying movement through wearable and video technology and develop novel methods of analyzing MRI data to better characterize disease health for individuals with neuromuscular disease. As disease modifying treatments become available in neuromuscular diseases, we are researching novel approaches to better quantify movement and complement current clinical practice working alongside other professionals in radiology, cardiovascular health, and engineering. This position focuses on clinical data management and primarily focuses on supporting the labs clinical data collection systems. One would expect to be using REDCap database design and form creation regularly while also aligning with administrative and research data governance politics. A successful candidate would serve as the primary data manager for multiple clinical research studies, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient data flow from collection through analysis. Learning SQL or having experience with Google Cloud would be preferred. Projects involve working with both pediatric and adults with neuromuscular diseases in both a lab and clinical environment. Assists in the design, development and implementation of business solutions partnering with clients to identify analytical requirements. Compiles reports, charts, and tables based on established statistical methods. This particular role is the Northwestern Medicine Enterprise Data Warehouse (NMEDW). The Data Analyst Associate will work with physicians, researchers, and other data consumers to define requirements, formulate queries, validate results, and generate reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.     Who We Are: The Center for Early Learning Funding Equity (CELFE) was established to develop and promote research- and data-informed strategies to transform funding of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) programs for children ages 0-5. Housed in Northern Illinois University's Division of Outreach, Engagement, and Regional Development (OERD), CELFE works in collaboration with academic, data, and research partners across the NIU system as well as with external partners. CELFE began its work focused primarily on Illinois' ECEC system, in which our Director, Theresa Hawley, Ph.D. has spent almost 30 years as a researcher, advocate, and government systems change leader - working to improve ECEC policies with children and families at the center. Now, CELFE is building on that experience and the passion for systems change to focus more deeply on the funding adequacy and equity of the ECEC system. The scope and reach of CELFE is expanding to include all states and municipalities interested in transformation. CELFE is only in its fourth year and needs to scale up our internal capacity to meet the growing needs of states and clients interested in understanding how to transform their own ECEC systems through an equity lens, with children and families at the center. As such, we are hiring a Data Analyst to support our Program and Policy staff with client work, research projects, and general organizational support. Position Summary This position is a hybrid, Chicago-based position with a requirement to be in person a portion of every week. 100% remote candidates will not be considered for this position. This position includes responsibilities to support the overall work of the center, with a particular focus data collection, analysis and visualization. The position contributes and supports CELFE's research and dissemination work, client projects, and overall organizational workflow and growth.
