Summary of Job Duties:The PatientCareTechnician (PCT) is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team. The PCT works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards. The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School, GED or formal educational equivalent.
Health Care Experience. PatientCare Experience. Certified Nursing Assistant or Military Corpsman.
Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
Successful completion of patientcaretechnician course is required within 3 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPR Certified/Licensed.
Experience in an ambulatory care setting

Responsibilities:
Helps patients with daily living needs such as comfort measures, grooming, hygiene, and ambulation as delegated by the RN.
Takes and documents patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature) accurately according to department standards.
Assists with patient flow processes like admitting, preparing for transfer, and discharging patients.
Maintains ongoing communication with the RN about patient condition changes and report patient requests or complaints.
Moves patients to different care areas or exam rooms as directed while ensuring safety.
Records all care provided, including activities of daily living, vital signs, and assigned tasks in medical records per policy.
Helps patients and visitors with basic information, direction, and support within the Women's Center environment.
May perform other duties as assigned.

All rooms are private and are centrally monitored if clinically indicated. To work in the Observation Unit, our staff need strong assessment skills, the ability to think critically and adapt to new challenges, along with strong communication skills to care for our patient population and work with our interdisciplinary teams. Summary of Job Duties:This position is used to fill multiple Night Shift positions
Full-time only
The PatientCareTechnician (PCT) performs patientcare tasks and duties which do not require a license. The PCT is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary patient management team in H7 Medical Oncology Unit.
H7 Medical Oncology Unit has 30 private rooms and provides state of the art therapies to a wide range of medical oncology patients and family medicine patients. Practicing in this environment allows the RN to develop skills in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, management of a range of IV central access devices, management of a variety of symptoms associated with the disease process and/or treatment, and development of skills in emotional support and palliative care. This area also provides learning opportunities in all areas of medical-surgical nursing. A strong interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, and social workers support the patient in their various therapies.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma/GED.
Successful completion of patientcaretechnician course within 3 months of hire.
Must have excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height.
Preferred:
Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman
Patientcare experience in acute care setting.
Prior PCT experience.
The PatientCareTechnician (PCT) works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse(s) and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards. The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Obtains patient report and has on-going communication with R.N. regarding patientcare/changes in condition; Informs nurse of patient requests or complaints.
Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
Transports patients to other areas of the hospital as directed.
Carries out the Plan of Care for Patient using a Multidisciplinary Approach as Delegated by Team Leader.
Communicates effectively with other team members to facilitate patientcare.
Accepts directions from R.N.s and team members.
Follows through on delegated patientcare activities.
Provides appropriate grooming/oral hygiene and comfort measures and assists patients with activities (ambulation, up in chair, turn and reposition).
Documents all patientcare activities/tasks, vital signs, ADL, wave tests, I&O's accurately and timely and per unit and department standards.
Assists patients and visitors with information and/or solutions to problems.
Serves as resources person to support department members in performance of duties.
Notifies appropriate staff members of problems requiring prompt intervention.
May perform other duties as assigned.
