Position Overview
The Research Associate will oversee computer networking, data connectivity, and system performance across UAPB's aquaculture research facilities located in Pine Bluff, Lonoke, and Eudora. This position combines advanced IT management with artificial intelligence applications in aquaculture research.
The specialist will play a key role in building and maintaining computing infrastructure, including a high-performance supercomputer, and developing AI-driven monitoring systems for aquatic species. The successful candidate will support ongoing AI-based projects focused on analyzing shrimp and fish feeding behavior, growth metrics (length, weight), health assessment, and environmental conditions, contributing directly to precision aquaculture initiatives.

IT Infrastructure and Networking
• Manage and maintain network systems, servers, and computer workstations across UAPB, Lonoke, and Eudora facilities

Facility and Research Support

The Forensic Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System is offered through the Forensic Neuropsychiatry division of the Tulane Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The goal of the fellowship is to enhance and broaden the fellow's forensic assessment skills. Under supervision, fellows will conduct forensic evaluations at an inpatient forensic hospital (Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System - ELMHS) and in private cases. Fellows will perform a wide variety of forensic mental health assessments with forensic patients, incarcerated individuals, as well as those in the community.
A wide range of evaluations are requested at the ELMHS forensic state hospital and include: competency to stand trial (CST) evaluations, evaluations for malingering, psychodiagnostic clarification, intellectual and cognitive evaluations, and violence risk evaluations. Evaluees are justice-involved individuals who have been adjudicated not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI) or deemed incompetent to stand trial by the court. Fellows will be responsible for selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests with the goal of writing high-quality integrated forensic reports.
Additional forensic assessment opportunities are available through conducting private evaluations in person in the greater New Orleans area and as a remote evaluator. The scope of evaluation questions are broad and come from referrals from attorneys, courts, and medico-legal professionals. Typical forensic cases will encompass both criminal and civil areas, although the majority of referrals are for criminal evaluations. Referrals include competency to stand trial evaluations, violence risk assessments, mitigation/resentencing evaluations, and trauma and PTSD evaluations in both federal and state court. A large portion of case referrals are for criminal responsibility evaluations.
Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in administrative and clinical meetings, conduct forensic research, and when possible, supervise other trainees under the umbrella supervision of a licensed psychologist. Fellows will attend forensic training seminars and scheduled didactics, including landmark case seminars and expert witness seminars. The forensic fellow is responsible for leading the ACGME-required Forensic Journal Club/Research Seminar. Participation in the annual mock trial conducted jointly with the Tulane Law Clinic and the Tulane Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship is expected. Additionally, opportunities to observe a board-certified psychologist testify and receive supervision on report writing for court and discussion of expert witness skills is a frequent activity.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Completion of a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in forensic psychology at an APA-accredited program by the start of the fellowship.
* Completion of an APA-accredited internship with an emphasis on forensic psychology by the start of the fellowship.
* Eligibility for state or provincial licensure or certification for the independent practice of psychology by the start of the fellowship.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
1. Ability to use and interpret forensic psychological assessment instruments and the ability to obtain relevant data through third-party data gathering and a comprehensive forensic interview.

Responsibilities
Data Integrity and Quality
* Ensures that institutional and survey data (historical and current) are managed and maintained with integrity and quality.
* Plans, develops and implements new methods and systems for data collection, validation, and management.
* Develops and implements data governance procedures and automated validation protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy across institutional databases.
* Advises on data definitions and standards to align institutional data practices with CSU system requirements.

* Responds to requests for data and analyses from both internal (CSUEB) and external agencies including WSCUC and the CSU Chancellor's Office, as well as higher ed-related surveys.

* Designs and executes research studies using advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to inform decision-making on enrollment management, student outcomes, and academic program performance.
* Synthesizes complex findings into actionable recommendations for senior administrators, incorporating contextual interpretation and policy implications.
* Ensures analytical methodologies and interpretations adhere to institutional and CSU data governance policies.
Dashboard and Data Resource Design
* Designs data resources and dashboards to enhance user accessibility and understanding of data for campus colleagues.
* Preparation of major administrative and analytical dashboards in support of student success in student retention and graduation, implementation and assessment of high impact practices, curriculum offerings including freshman year programs, and information needed for university initiatives.
* Leads the conceptualization and development of interactive data dashboards, collaborating with IT and campus partners to enhance usability, accessibility, and data literacy across units.
* Implements visualization best practices to ensure clarity, transparency, and effective communication of key performance indicators.

Summary of Job Duties:The Postdoctoral Fellow will continue investigation of cancer nerve crosstalk in both breast cancer and pancreatic cancer. In both projects, the postdoctoral fellow will use tissue engineered models of the tumor microenvironment, conduct molecular assays and perform multiphoton optical redox imaging to probe metabolic status of cells real time. This person will also supervise current graduate students working on breast tumor innervation, given she has also gained experience in this area during his/her PhD tenure. In addition, this individual will learn to write federal and foundational research grant proposals and continue to hone her skills in supervising graduate and undergraduate students and developing multidisciplinary collaborations.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment
Previous work with cancer nerve crosstalk and tissue engineered models of tumor microenvironments
Experience conducting molecular assays and performing multiple optical redox imaging
Laboratory fluency with a strong understanding of policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Additional Information:
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
