The Visual Communications Specialist plays a key role in advancing UCSF School of Dentistry's (SOD) mission areas by designing and producing high-impact visual content for internal and external audiences. This position supports communication campaigns that range from employee engagement and institutional initiatives to the launch and promotion of new healthcare clinics and academic programs.
The Specialist will create visuals that effectively communicate across multiple environments-digital, print, and physical spaces-ensuring accessibility and impact for audiences both on and off campus and in clinic, including those who may not be desk-based.
NOTE: This is a 1-year Contract role requires to be onsite 4 days & 1 day telework per week.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. The salary range for this position is $91,000- $150,000 (Annual Rate).

Bachelor's degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of professional experience in visual design, preferably in a higher education, healthcare, or nonprofit environment.
Advanced knowledge of design and communications concepts and applicable software applications.
Advanced knowledge of production processes for a variety of media and knowledge of vendor requirements for a variety of products.

Communications and Social Media Specialist

The communications and social media specialist will be responsible for creating a variety of written, visual and digital communications to help promote the school of nursing, advance its mission and strategic plan, and build community. These will include news and feature stories, e-newsletters and other publications, and web content.
In addition, the specialist will be responsible for managing the school's social media accounts, including working with the communications director to develop and execute social media content strategy with an eye toward growing the audience and leveraging the platform to promote the school and the work of its faculty, staff, and students. The specialist will closely monitor social media metrics to measure success and adapt the social media content strategy as needed.
The individual should have sound editorial judgment, and be adept at creating well-written, effective communications. They should be able to adapt communications styles and tones for different audiences and needs. Experience with video production is a plus.

Definition of Classification:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist plays a key role in supporting and executing strategic initiatives that elevate the university's brand, programs, and community engagement s. This position, based in the Burbank/LA campus, is responsible for creating and managing content across various platforms, with special focus on social media, that helps to strengthen the university's position in Los Angeles specifically and California broadly as a leading institution of higher education.
Using omnichannel efforts, the Specialist will develop content that feeds key platforms, including but not limited to social media; the university website; blogs, newsletters and communications memos; and print materials. Oversee student workers and provide them with mentorship, guidance, and direction to create high-quality content for university channels.

Manages and prepares student verification letters in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Collaborates with the Program Manager for Academic Affairs and Enrollment and other OAA staff to provide data and identify longitudinal trends for student cohorts. Manages the Rho Chi Tutoring Program by creating EPAFs, verifying timesheets, and overseeing tutor operations. Provides staff support for academic committees, including the Assessment and Curriculum Committees. Serves as the budget manager for the Office of Academic Affairs. Maintains non-academic calendars within the unit and coordinates facility scheduling for non-academic meetings and events using EMS . Collects academic and related data from systems such as Banner and OnBase, resolves deficiencies, and requests updates or additional information as needed. Serves as a point of contact for students and provides guidance on academic policies and procedures while directing them to appropriate resources. Communicates academic policy information to faculty and staff regarding petitions, registration, overrides, and processes within the learning management system and SharePoint. Cross-trains to support other office functions and provides primary or backup support as needed. Coordinates and tracks faculty development events. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
> In collaboration with Green Dot Public Schools Central Office as part of the Public Affairs & Compliance (PAC) Team, ensure schools are in full compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and support completion of documents as needed.
> Collect, clean, review, and maintain data sets for school guiding questions, benchmark reporting, public presentations, and charter renewals for all school sites.
> Lead data analysis and original drafting of school memos for oversight visits and school renewal monitoring, including the compilation of materials, development of responses to renewal guides, data analysis, and pre-oversight visit school site audits.
> Support in the preparation and organization of charter renewal process for each school site, including compiling data analysis, drafting school-specific talking points, creating data tracking sheets and memos, contributing to presentations, and managing work streams as assigned.

Department Summary
Enrollment Services is comprised of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Office of Evaluations, Prospective Student Services, Out-of-State Recruitment and Strategic Partnerships, International Recruitment, Class Schedule, Communications, and the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation.
The Enrollment Services Communications Office oversees all internal and external communications (publications, websites, marketing and informational campaigns, etc.) to the campus and community regarding enrollment topics, including recruitment, admissions, and registration.
