We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to provide technical and general accounting assistance to the Assistant Director of Finance. This position requires heavy analytical and communication skills as they will be expected to work on assignments that are moderately complex and require some judgment to resolve problems and make routine decisions.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Perform reconciliations of cash, revenue, claims, and A/R accounts.
* Reconciliation of financial reports, balance sheet items, and other information for FPG Departments.
* Reconcile University accounting ledgers for all departments on a monthly basis to ensure that accounts are reflected accurately. Prepare reconciling journal entries as necessary.

Essential Functions:
Lead and oversee accounting operations related to post-award grants, contracts, and the procure-to-pay (P2P) lifecycle, ensuring compliance with GAAP, GAGAS, and federal regulations including OMB Uniform Guidance.
Collaborate with the Controller and AVP, Accounting to develop and implement strategic financial initiatives that support the University's mission and long-term goals.
Oversee the preparation and review of complex financial reports, including grant and contract financials, operational summaries, and grant cost analyses.
Develops, prepares, and validates management reports in support of financial statements including various operational reports. Partners with departments to set deadlines for monthly and year end reporting.
Ensures accurate preparation of journal entries, reports, forms, schedules, and documents prepared by accounting team and other University staff including but not limited to transactions and documentation related to grants, contracts and P2P areas.
Partner with cross-functional teams-including Sponsored Programs, Financial Decision Support, financial systems support and IT-to ensure integrated financial operations and data integrity across systems such as Workday.
Serve as a key liaison during internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries and implementation of recommendations.
Participate in the coordination and execution of annual audits and regulatory reporting, with a focus on grant compliance and post-award financial activities; support institution-wide audit readiness and ensure timely, accurate submissions to federal, state, and other oversight agencies.

Job Summary
The SeniorAccountant, Financial Reporting will perform professional level accounting work in the compilation, and the reporting of the Company's global financial records.
Essential Functions
Identify cash vs non-cash items to properly prepare the Company's Consolidated Statement of Cashflows. Note that the cashflow statement is a highly complex financial document, which requires certain advanced accounting knowledge to prepare the following schedules at high volumes and error-free with minimal supervision: Prepare Goodwill and Intangibles rollforward, Equity Method Investments rollforward, Debt rollforward, Notes Receivable rollforward, Taxes paid, Interest paid, and understand foreign currency impact.
Prepare standalone financial statements utilizing OneStream reporting, including sub-consolidations for certain groups of entities with third party reporting.
Provide significant support for the Company's annual audit of its consolidated financial statements. Responsibilities include preparing requested and recurring schedules for auditors, and roll-forward and preparation of the financial statements, footnotes, supplemental schedules. Support is provided in the preparation of certain supporting schedules for the Company's annual accounting memorandums
Maintain financial records and recording monthly journal entries related primarily to intercompany positions and global sponsorship revenue recognition. It also includes a compilation of a high volume of submissions files from subsidiaries, support in the detailed preparation of US GAAP financial statements, primarily quarterly and semi-annual financial reporting procedures and report preparation.
Run the Company's Consolidated Balance Sheet in OneStream. Prepare reconciliation and recurring consolidating journal entries for the Company's complex intercompany balances.
Prepare journal entries needed for the global posting of Softrax-system sponsorship revenue activity and contract-based balances. These entries include costs of revenues and reclassification of intercompany accounts, once the system entries have posted twice per month.
Compile a global accounts receivable aging analysis from subsidiary submissions. Assess submissions for completeness and appropriateness of responses. A draft memorandum to senior management with detailed supporting schedules, of accounts receivable balances, reserves, and aging explanations is prepared for review.
Prepare Consolidated PPE rollforward & related capital expenditure reporting, using the Company's OneStream financial reporting tool & Excel. This process involves coordination with all other departments across all of AEG and applying Excel macros skills to consolidate information to determine PPE additions, as well as determining cash vs non-cash additions.
Prepare Census Filings on at least a quarterly basis and as needed/requested. Documents are to be performed and submitted with minimal supervision.
Provide support by compiling various financial statements and perform analytical reviews for reasonableness and compliance with US GAAP (as applicable).
Provide suggestions to management and supervisor on ways to implement efficiencies with daily processing and reporting activities.
Required Qualifications

BASIC FUNCTION Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Accountant performs professional accounting tasks related to the recording, auditing, examining, maintaining, reconciling, analyzing, verifying, and reporting of financial and accounting records.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Incumbents in this classification perform the full spectrum of professional accounting functions at the highest level, requiring independent expert knowledge in the application of accounting principles and practices, as well as relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work being performed. 1. Review, maintain, audit, reconcile, and report on all budgets, accounts, and funds; perform technical accounting tasks related to the creation, preparation, coordination, monitoring, managing, and accurate maintenance of financial budgets, ledgers, accounts, and records.
2. Perform, oversee, and monitor, audit, and validate internal and external financial transactions; verify and ensure maintenance of approvals and processing records within legal, policy, and procedural requirements; ensure accurate and timely disposition of payables and receivables.
3. Plan, coordinate, compile, and report accurate financial information for audits, Federal, State and local reports, financial statements, and ad hoc requests; prepare and submit assigned Federal, State, local and other designated statements, and reports.
4. Provide technical assistance to end users with budget and account development, monitoring, maintenance, transaction, and processing questions.
5. Calculate, prepare, request, receive, reconcile, post, and report on external financial transactions including grant, categorical, and capital funding.
6. Audit and ensure assignment, coding, classification, and reporting of financial records and transactions are within Federal, State, and local legal requirements.
7. Assist, train, and provide professional expertise to internal and external staff regarding financial and accounting matters.
8. Assist in year-end closing, fiscal year budget preparation, audits, and special report requests as required.
9. Assist students, staff, faculty, vendors, and others with questions related to financial processing, resolving issues in a timely manner.
