University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department: School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Division Job Title: OPEN RANK - C&A Psychiatrist - Colorado Springs #00843342 - Requisition #38510 The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist must demonstrate clinical experience and excellence with children and adolescents and the ability to manage different acuity levels, broadly including children and their families in outpatient, inpatient units, emergency department, partial hospitalization, consultation-liaison, and primary and specialty care settings. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to apply and implement evidence-based approaches to care. A history of teaching and mentoring residents, and medical students, and working with milieu staff is also desired. Scholarly activities are encouraged and supported. The psychiatrist position will serve a diverse population of patients
Along with open rank, there may be an opportunity to work in additional clinical and/or research settings based on skillset and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Able to perform initial psychiatric diagnostic interviews, develop and follow through with treatment plans, and maintain timely and focused documentation through the electronic medical record.
* Ability to apply and implement evidence-based approaches to care including using evidence-based guidelines for prescriptions and monitoring medications in the pediatric population
* Develop, train, and supervise trainees of various disciplines.
* Psychiatrists in Colorado Springs may serve in the Outpatient Clinic, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP),and Consultation Services (CL, ED, Crisis)
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On-call expectations may include the Denver Metro area

+ Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and studies
+ Manage and conduct moderately complex research activities that are part of larger project from initiation to close.
+ Obtain study subject's medical history and current medication information, reviews research protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria, and confirms eligibility of subject to participate in clinical trial
