Student life provides students with many outstanding educational, recreational and service opportunities. The distinguished speaker series, symposia concerts, exhibits and arts and cultural activities are only some of the campus events that are hosted regularly, allowing students to receive a well-rounded learning experience. Students may join more than 300 student organizations, with interests in co-curricular activities, community service, Greek life, honor societies, multicultural groups and many more. Spiritual life opportunities are also available through the school's many religious and spiritually oriented groups. Academics are offered in more than 135 bachelor's programs, 115 master's programs, 50 doctoral programs and 12 dual-graduate programs through the school's seven colleges and collaborations with more than 60 top research centers. A handful of associate's degrees are also available. Admissions require students to submit either a University of Delaware application or a Common Application with UD supplement. Students applying for music majors must audition; students applying for an arts major must submit a required essay and portfolio that demonstrates creative ability. Tuition is set lower for Delaware residents. Applicants who file a FAFSA by December 1 will be considered to receive merit-based scholarships. Other forms of financial aid include need-based federal aid.
