QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected candidate will have a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology or a related field, a minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience as the instructor of record in Korean language and culture courses, and a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching undergraduate courses in Ethnomusicology and Korean language and culture. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality, communicative-based instruction and work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities within the School of Music will include teaching ethnomusicology courses for undergraduate music majors, M.M. topics courses in ethnomusicology, and general education courses in world music that are/can be cross-listed with Asian Studies. Responsibilities within the DLLC will include teaching all levels of Korean language (composition, grammar, and oral communication), as well as Korean culture classes taught in English. Preferred qualifications include experience in program development and grant writing, along with research and teaching experience in cross-border studies in Asia, given the automatic affiliation with the Asian Studies faculty. The selected candidate will provide essential service to both departments as assigned by the department chairs. This may include committee work, student advising, recruitment, and retention.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a closely related field, extensive experience operating mass spectrometers, and the ability to oversee and further develop our existing stable isotope facility.
The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Delaware houses a state-of-the-art stable isotope laboratory (******************************** equipped with advanced instrumentation capable of measuring isotope ratios and concentrations of hydrogen (H), carbon (C), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O), sulfur (S), and chlorine (Cl). Measurements can be performed on a wide range of materials, including minerals, water, gases, organic compounds, soils, and biomass. The laboratory features multiple Thermo Scientific Delta V Plus IRMS systems, a GC IsoLink II, Trace 1300 GC, EA IsoLink OH and CNS analyzer, Dionex ICS 2100 ion chromatograph, and an LGR Triple Isotope Water Analyzer. A recent addition to the facility is the Thermo Scientific Exploris 240 Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer for high-resolution isotope analysis. The department also maintains a gamma spectrometry system for measuring natural radioactivity. This 9-month position has an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. SMSP offers a wide range of degrees in marine science and policy including fields in policy analysis and environmental economics.
We invite applications for a tenure-track AssistantProfessor position focused on the blue economy-a term often used to describe the goal of sustainable use of ocean resources to support economic growth, environmental health, and social well-being. We seek a social scientist or legal scholar whose research addresses the policy, legal, and/or economic dimensions of contemporary ocean resource use. Areas of focus may include, but are not limited to marine spatial planning, offshore energy, ocean-based carbon dioxide removal, critical marine mineral extraction, maritime shipping and trade, fisheries, and coastal- and ocean-related policy analysis. Candidates whose work engages with domestic or international legal and policy regimes and explores how ocean governance influences ecosystems and livelihoods are especially encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will contribute to an interdisciplinary intellectual community through teaching and research related to the blue economy. We welcome applicants with a Ph.D. from a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to sociology, law (joint JD), public policy and administration, political science, international relations, management science and engineering, economics, and anthropology. We are interested in scholars whose work is analytically rigorous and empirically driven by qualitative or quantitative methods. Your research does not need to focus exclusively on ocean-related topics, but they should be a significant portion of your research portfolio.

Duties
The successful candidate will have responsibilities in research, teaching, and service. The successful candidate is expected to develop a scholarly research program leading to publication in top field and general journals and work to gain outside funding to support their program. Faculty typically recruit and mentor graduate students at Master's and PhD levels. The successful candidate will work with the School Director to develop a teaching portfolio with a workload of two 3-credit hour courses per year. The courses will balance the person's areas of expertise and needs of the SMSP and may include graduate and/or undergraduate courses. The service workload is typically kept to a minimum in the early years, and will likely include committee work on a curriculum committee, colloquium committee, etc. There is also an expectation that the person will be active in professional societies and outreach related to their research.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD in a social science or related interdisciplinary field. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to conduct independent rigorous research, a capacity to teach undergraduate and graduate courses to students from broad backgrounds, and a facility to work in a collegial environment to advance the mission of our school.

Workload of each position is 95% teaching and 5% service. These are permanent, full-time positions. Continuing track faculty are eligible for promotion in academic rank and sabbaticals. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate courses in support of majors in pre-veterinary medicine, animal biosciences, animal sciences, and the minor in equine science, depending on academic expertise, qualifications, and departmental priorities and programming. Courses may include anatomy and physiology of domestic animals, One Health, equine diseases and lameness, animal nutrition, animals and human culture, introduction to animal science, senior capstone courses in beef cattle and sheep production or dairy cattle management, study abroad in sustainable agriculture, forages and pasture management for livestock, and others.
The candidate is expected to actively engage in innovative scholarly activity related to instruction, including but not limited to teaching courses, participation in curriculum revision and enhancement, seeking scholarly grants to enhance their teaching program, and sharing the results of successful innovative pedagogies through peer-reviewed publications. The candidate will participate in recruiting, mentoring, and advising undergraduate students. Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in animal science or a related field (EdD/DVM/VMD degree also will be considered) and have significant training and experience working with agricultural/food animals.
