Those who wish to pursue the three year bachelor's may major in such fields as Communications, Criminal Justice, English, History, Psychology and Education. Sessions last from eight to fifteen weeks and students still get their summers off. Standard four-year degrees are also awarded in such fields as Applied Arts, Computer Science, Teacher-Education, Psychology and Business. Graduate programs include Master's degrees offered in such fields as the Arts and Sciences, Business, Nursing and Education. The small city of Victoria and the campus itself are safe, but still within a two hour drive of the state's major cities, including Austin and Houston. Victoria's student life activities also provide a pleasant outlet and include a Jazz performance group, a film society, a campus ministry and cultural groups such as the Mexican-American Student Organization. Those seeking undergraduate admission will need to present transcripts of previous schools attended, standardized test scores and an application. Transfer applicants are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores. Financial aid is awarded to eligible students and may include loans for undergraduates and full-tuition fellowships for graduate students.
