    The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient centered 100% (40 hours a week) Medical Assistant II to work at our Bettendorf Outreach Clinic. Our Medical Assistants develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patient care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient. This position supports our other clinics located within the building which includes but not limited to: Pediatrics, Dermatology, and Endocrinology. This position requires travel within a two-hour radius approximately once per month and includes the use of a fleet vehicle, along with paid drive time. Duties to include: * Staff will support our OBGYN Clinic patients. * Responsible for facilitating the smooth flow of patients through the clinic through interaction with patients, families, and staff. * Leads and ensures an efficient rooming process for patients, including but not limited to obtaining vital signs, patient history, medication records, allergies, and immunizations. * Assists in clinic with physical examination of patients and related treatments. * Supports management of internal and external medical records to ensure that accurate and complete data is available for patient appointments. * Obtains routine laboratory samples such as urinalysis and blood work, as needed. * Performs related clerical tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing information to other departments. * Works closely with Central Sterile team to ensure delivery of reusable instruments for processing, accounting for return of all instruments to clinic, monitoring reports, and supporting organization of new instruments. * Stocks supplies, stocks rooms, and monitors expirations. * Daily, weekly, monthly audits. * Supports strong patient experience metrics by providing high quality and patient centered care.
