UI Health Care department of Hospital Dentistry Institute has an opportunity for a 80% - 100% Dental Assistant to provide chairside hands-on support in our General Practice and Prosthodontic Clinic. This position will assist our care providers with scheduled care, emergency and walk-in care and in-patient consultations. Duties also include assisting our care providers in our ambulatory clinic, the Main Operating Room and in the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job. We also screen all orthopedic joint replacement patients and cardiac surgical patients, providing dental care and dental clearance prior to surgery. We provide dental care in an operating room setting for pediatric patients and mentally/physically disabled patients of all ages. Our dentists also provide routine dental care and dental hygiene services to the community and to those who work at UI Health Care. Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse, performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting by coordinating patient intake and clinic flow.
