The Department of Psychiatry at The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a ResearchAssociate to serve as a Project Evaluator and member of the UI Addiction and Recovery Collaborative (UI ARC) team. This position supports funded projects involving substance use and addiction through the development and implementation of comprehensive evaluation plans. The Project Evaluator will conduct project management activities to ensure program operations, activities, and services align with the research and service grant goals and objectives. Evaluation responsibilities include accessing various reports, conducting analyses, and formatting data for inclusion in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
* Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to collect evaluation data for of grant-funded programs and analyze program data using quantitative methods.
* Seek, synthesize, and organize information to summarize and communicate in a clear and concise manner.
* Understand the context of a program and how it affects planning, implementation, outcomes, and evaluation.
* Will collect and enter data and conduct audits as necessary.
* Generate queries, reports, exports, and other data as needed.
* Provide quantitative, graphical, and qualitative analysis.
* Provide statistical support and interpret findings.
* Assist in the preparation of materials as requested for reporting to funding sources.
* Submit timely and accurate reports for existing grant-funded projects.
* Work within databases such as Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap).
* Ensure the protection of confidential data including and not limited to the privacy of the health care information.
* Meet deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information-gathering, writing, review, and approval to ensure timely transmittal/submission of proposals.
* Work in a team environment and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, learners, and various project stakeholders.
* Collaborate through effective communication by providing regular updates and information to colleagues allowing the entire team to perform well.
Supervision: Received from UI ARC's Program Directors and project leadership.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree.
* Minimum of one year experience with data collection, data management, databases, data analyses (e.g., frequency tables, correlations, group comparisons), and report writing.
* Previous experience working with a broad range of stakeholders that demonstrates an ability to encourage meaningful participation in a team setting.
* Knowledge of frameworks and methods for program evaluation in a research/clinical setting, including data collection, data analyses, and reporting.
* Experience with project development and project management that includes evaluation plans and/or designs.
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Evidence of ability to function with a high degree of independence while actively collaborating in a team environment, handling multiple projects, and experience working in deadline-driven environments.
* Technical or scientific writing experience.
Desirable Qualifications
* Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, health sciences, data science, or other relevant field.
* Two years' experience conducting data analyses using appropriate analytic tools.
* Experience with behavioral health systems, infectious disease, medical education, or healthcare systems.
* Familiarity with the implementation and evaluation of funded projects and evidence-based practices related to substance use disorders, infectious disease or behavioral health.
* Knowledge of and experience with designing, building, and implementing REDCap projects and Qualtrics surveys.
* Experience with human subject's research.
* Experience with grant reporting platform (SPARS, Iowagrants, etc.,)

Gather, record, organize, transcribe and verify the accuracy of research study data

The Forensic Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System is offered through the Forensic Neuropsychiatry division of the Tulane Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The goal of the fellowship is to enhance and broaden the fellow's forensic assessment skills. Under supervision, fellows will conduct forensic evaluations at an inpatient forensic hospital (Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System - ELMHS) and in private cases. Fellows will perform a wide variety of forensic mental health assessments with forensic patients, incarcerated individuals, as well as those in the community.
A wide range of evaluations are requested at the ELMHS forensic state hospital and include: competency to stand trial (CST) evaluations, evaluations for malingering, psychodiagnostic clarification, intellectual and cognitive evaluations, and violence risk evaluations. Evaluees are justice-involved individuals who have been adjudicated not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI) or deemed incompetent to stand trial by the court. Fellows will be responsible for selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests with the goal of writing high-quality integrated forensic reports.
Additional forensic assessment opportunities are available through conducting private evaluations in person in the greater New Orleans area and as a remote evaluator. The scope of evaluation questions are broad and come from referrals from attorneys, courts, and medico-legal professionals. Typical forensic cases will encompass both criminal and civil areas, although the majority of referrals are for criminal evaluations. Referrals include competency to stand trial evaluations, violence risk assessments, mitigation/resentencing evaluations, and trauma and PTSD evaluations in both federal and state court. A large portion of case referrals are for criminal responsibility evaluations.
Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in administrative and clinical meetings, conduct forensic research, and when possible, supervise other trainees under the umbrella supervision of a licensed psychologist. Fellows will attend forensic training seminars and scheduled didactics, including landmark case seminars and expert witness seminars. The forensic fellow is responsible for leading the ACGME-required Forensic Journal Club/Research Seminar. Participation in the annual mock trial conducted jointly with the Tulane Law Clinic and the Tulane Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship is expected. Additionally, opportunities to observe a board-certified psychologist testify and receive supervision on report writing for court and discussion of expert witness skills is a frequent activity.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Completion of a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in forensic psychology at an APA-accredited program by the start of the fellowship.
* Completion of an APA-accredited internship with an emphasis on forensic psychology by the start of the fellowship.
* Eligibility for state or provincial licensure or certification for the independent practice of psychology by the start of the fellowship.

Our research is centered on understanding the molecular mechanisms that underlie viral and fungal pathogenicity, as well as plant defense against these organisms. Our research projects involve studies of the important row crop plants, soybean and corn, and we also utilize model host plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana and Nicotiana benthamiana. We use functional genomics approaches to study the molecular changes that occur in susceptible and resistant genotypes of crop and model plant species. The plant and pathogen genes identified in these studies are providing insight into ways in which successful pathogens interact with and manipulate their hosts, as well as how plants deploy defense mechanisms.

Contribute to the success of the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation by conducting clinical Orthopedic total joint research for Dr. Jake Elkins. Education

Experience Requirements:

Proficient in MS Office computer software applications.

Desired Qualifications:
Working knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.
