Principal Responsibilities and Tasks The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
1. Provides direct physical therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted physical therapy standards, State of Maryland Physical Therapy Practice Act, code of ethics, and departmental procedures, as follows:
* Performs comprehensive evaluations to identify problems that require physical therapy. Selects appropriate tests and measurements to identify and define specific patient problems.
* Sets priorities and establishes treatment goals directed toward problems that are objective, functional, and measurable. Plans and selects the most appropriate treatment modality, method, or procedure to address goals.
* Selects and implements alternate methods or procedures when goals are not being adequately attained, adjusting goals according to patient response. Determines when goals have been reached and problems resolved.
* Provides competent patient care. Maintains patient privacy. Teaches patients and families home care and exercise skills specific to the patient's disability. Recognizes patient distress signals and provides emergency care, via CPR, when necessary.
* Requests the assistance of Physical Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and/or volunteers as appropriate.
2. Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record in accordance with departmental documentation standards.
* Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as patient evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports, discharge summaries, and other such reports.
* Records patient charges and procedures performed, daily.
3. Participates in quality assurance activities, suggests areas for improvement to colleagues in a tactful and considerate manner. Suggests quality assurance topics and alternate treatment techniques to improve physical therapy services.
4. Assumes responsibility to resolve or reports clinical and operational issues department leadership for resolution in order to assure smooth departmental operations.
5. Attends and participates in clinical patient rounds and conferences as required, as part of the interdisciplinary patient care team. Communicates observations, facts and comments to interdisciplinary team members.
6. Attends physical therapy in-service training programs. Suggests in-service topics and speakers. Presents information concerning continuing education courses to Physical Therapy staff at in-service programs.
7. Oversees and directs the work of therapy aides, volunteers and students as directed by the department leadership.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree plus five years of physicaltherapist experience, or Master's Degree, or Master's equivalent, or Doctorate of PT, required.
* Current licensure as a PhysicalTherapist with the State of Maryland is required.
* Current CPR certification is required.
* Acute Rehab experience preferred.

Job Summary
Delivers physical therapy services through the evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of physical therapy.
Primary Responsibilities

Performs physical therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted standards, Maryland Department of Health Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, code of ethics, and departmental and/or organizational policies and procedures.
Performs patient assessments and develops individualized treatment plan programs for clients/patients to improve movement, manage pain, and/or prevent injury. Develops and maintains long- and short-term treatment objectives and re-evaluates and modifies treatment programs as necessary.
Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record, in accordance with departmental documentation standards.
Informs patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members of evaluation results and plan for treatment and refers for further evaluation.
Plans and provides therapy education and counseling to individuals.
Provides mentorship and training to clinical team members and/or students as eligible based on departmental needs.
Demonstrates interdisciplinary, safe, patient-centered care and delivers excellent customer service.
Participates in performance improvement activities and suggests areas for improvement to colleagues in a tactful and considerate manner. Proposes performance improvement topics and alternate treatment techniques to improve therapy services.
Reports clinical and operational issues to departmental leadership and assists in their resolution to assure high quality care and efficient departmental operations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree required. Bachelor's or Master's degree accepted if licensed prior to 2016 (per previous licensing requirement)

Licensure/Certifications:
Licensed PhysicalTherapist in the state of Maryland
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Position Summary:
HomeCare Maryland is seeking a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing Home Health team. In this role, you will perform skilled occupational therapy services in patients' homes, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life through customized, evidence-based interventions.
As an Occupational Therapist with HomeCare Maryland, you'll conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure exceptional outcomes for our patients across Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Essential Functions:
Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' clinical and functional limitations, safety, and equipment needs in the home setting.
Conduct home visits according to prescribed schedules and patient needs.
Develop and implement personalized therapy plans of care based on assessment findings, including ADL and IADL functioning.
Establish realistic, individualized patient goals and revise them as conditions change.
Complete COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) supervisory visits per agency policy and Medicare regulations.
Identify and refer patients to additional services when appropriate.
Document each visit, intervention, and patient progress accurately and timely in accordance with agency policy.
Communicate changes in patient condition to the physician and other members of the care team.
Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary collaboration and assessment for comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred).
Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Maryland.
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association - for healthcare providers).
3-5 years of clinical experience (prior home care experience strongly preferred).
Strong clinical, assessment, and documentation skills.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patient homes throughout Baltimore City and County.

Performs comprehensive evaluations to identify problems that require physical therapy. Selects appropriate tests and measurements to identify and define specific patient problems.
Sets priorities and establishes treatment goals directed toward problems that are objective, functional, and measurable. Plans and selects the most appropriate treatment modality, method, or procedure to address goals.
Selects and implements alternate methods or procedures when goals are not being adequately attained, adjusting goals according to patient response. Determines when goals have been reached and problems resolved.
Provides competent patient care. Maintains patient privacy. Teaches patients and families home care and exercise skills specific to the patient's disability. Recognizes patient distress signals and provides emergency care, via CPR, when necessary.
Requests the assistance of Physical Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and/or volunteers as appropriate.
2. Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record in accordance with departmental documentation standards.
Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as patient evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports, discharge summaries, and other such reports.
Records patient charges and procedures performed, daily.
3. Participates in quality assurance activities, suggests areas for improvement to colleagues in a tactful and considerate manner. Suggests quality assurance topics and alternate treatment techniques to improve physical therapy services.
4. Assumes responsibility to resolve or reports clinical and operational issues department leadership for resolution in order to assure smooth departmental operations.
5. Attends and participates in clinical patient rounds and conferences as required, as part of the interdisciplinary patient care team. Communicates observations, facts and comments to interdisciplinary team members.
6. Attends physical therapy in-service training programs. Suggests in-service topics and speakers. Presents information concerning continuing education courses to Physical Therapy staff at in-service programs.
7. Oversees and directs the work of therapy aides, volunteers and students as directed by the department leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree plus five years of physicaltherapist experience, or Master's Degree, or Master's equivalent, or Doctorate of PT, required.
Current licensure as a PhysicalTherapist with the State of Maryland is required.
Current CPR certification is required.
Acute Rehab experience preferred.

Job Description
General Summary
Under general supervision of the Education and Clinical Coordinators, physicians, and guest lecturers the respiratory intern will observe in the classroom setting a variety of routine technical procedures during department orientation. This orientation period will allow time to gain knowledge of effective evaluation and treatment of individuals with cardiopulmonary functions threatened or impaired by developmental defects, the aging process, physical injury, or disease. The intern period is to serve as a means to provide effective respiratory care department orientation, while ascertaining the overall competency of the new graduate.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
Under general supervision of the Respiratory Care Education Coordinator the Respiratory Intern will observe the following work being performed by staff assigned to the Respiratory Technician and Respiratory Therapist job classifications.
A variety of respiratory care treatments given to specific patient populations (adult, pediatric, or neonatal).
Explanation of treatments to patient and/or family before performing.
Observes physical signs and symptoms, general behavior, general physical response to respiratory care procedures. Collaboration of therapists with physicians regarding therapeutic treatment plans to determine whether initiation, modification, or discontinuation of the treatment regimen is warranted.
Termination of patient treatment upon notice of patient discomfort, troubled medical status, or inability to accept treatment.
Observation of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures, including, airway management, manual ventilation, and cardiac compressions as needed.
Observes the therapist as they administer therapeutic and diagnostic gases (exclusive of general anesthesia), bronchodilator treatments, and chest physiotherapy, aerosolized medication treatments in accordance with departmental procedures, as directed by a physician. Additionally, they will observe the therapist delivering oxygen and humidified air through a variety of devises to reverse and prevent tissue hypoxia, treat arterial hypoxemia, decrease the work of breathing and decrease myocardial work.
Observes therapistphysician interaction as they assist the physician with non-surgical insertion, maintenance and removal of artificial airways, as requested.
Watches the technique of suctioning of the patients artificial and nasal/oral airways with the use of a sterile disposable catheter inserted into the airway.
Learns age-specific version(s) of respiratory techniques when working with adult/pediatric/neonatal population.
Observation of mechanical ventilation and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) to critical care patients, witnessing while the therapist adjusts ventilation and CPAP under the direct supervision of a physician.
Observes the effectiveness of mechanical ventilation and other therapeutic interventions in the critically ill patient by learning the interpretation of chest x-rays, and blood gas results. Observation of the therapist as they observe the patients appearance, respiration rate and oxygen saturation, and notifying doctor as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
A Certificate from an AMA approved program by the National Board of Respiratory Care in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
A minimum of six months to one year performing didactic and clinical Respiratory care procedures is preferred.
General knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system, biology, microbiology, technical mathematics, and pharmacology are required. Knowledge of medical terminology, and moderate level of proficiency in operation of equipment, such as, various types of ventilators, nebulizers, aerosol masks, nasal cannulas, mist tents, oxyhoods and other oxygen delivery devices.
CPR is required
Associates Degree in respiratory or related field is preferred.

Experience:
Two (2) or more years experience in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation setting required, relevant to the setting(s) to which the employee will be assigned.
Knowledge of Scottcare telemetry system preferred
Salary Range: Minimum 28.00/hour - Maximum 28.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
