Among other responsibilities, Brendan: oversees the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of University Events; works with senior leaders to ensure alignment between the institution’s strategic goals and operational priorities; and contributes to the development and growth of a number of strategic international partnerships.

Prior to assuming the chief of staff position, Brendan served as the Director of Health Sciences Initiatives where he supported Chancellor Collins, in his role as Senior Vice President for the Health Sciences for the UMass System. While in this role, Brendan helped to develop and implement a number of campus-specific and system-wide health sciences strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the University of Massachusetts’ position as a leader in the state’s life sciences cluster.

Brendan is a graduate of Connecticut College, as well as The Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership.
