Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) or designee, the ResearchAssociate I provides operational support to the laboratory. The ResearchAssociate I will perform research experiments as defined by the PI. Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Perform laboratory experiments and may be responsible for a single research project• Utilize all software relevant to experiment and equipment used• Interpret data, form conclusions and decide on next steps under the direction of the PI or designee• Maintain accurate records, may modify protocols with the approval of the PI or designee• Review literature, publications and grants relevant to assigned projects• Record results according to established lab, sponsor & university protocol• Assist with performing data analysis and/or mathematical computations• Maintain a detailed lab notebook according to lab practice• Present findings at lab/group meetings• Monitor laboratory supply levels and order as noted• Prepare and label buffers, media, solutions, etc.• Assist with and comply with all safety regulation and infection control standards• Train on IACUC, IRB, EHS, Radiation safety protocols• Comply with all applicable state, federal university, and sponsor policies and agreements• Provide support with identifying problems and challenges, propose resolutions, implement appropriate solutions• Provide support with drafting standard operation procedures in compliance to EHS regulation specific for the lab• Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Biological or Natural Science, or equivalent experience• Basic understanding of lab safety and protocols• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products• Ability to analyze data in a quantitative and objective manner.• Ability to work in a team environment
Additional Information
The Li lab is recruiting a ResearchAssociate to perform nucleic acid chemistry to support research projects related to mRNA therapeutics and the Sponsor Research Agreement with Rhodes Therapeutics. The research projects will involve solid-phase nucleic acid synthesis, organic synthesis, LC-MS analysis, NMR, reverse-phase chromatography, and other purification techniques. A bachelor's degree in chemistry is required.
Li lab works on developing platform technologies for mRNA therapeutics. We utilize a widerange of technologies including biochemistry, chemical biology, directed evolution, andhigh-throughput sequencing.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to knowledge on the Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID ( PASC ), also called Long COVID . The weekly surveys will provide self-report information from Veterans on how Long COVID symptoms change over time, what types of medical treatments and self-care they are receiving, and how they are coping with this multi-symptom illness. This is a part-time position in the Division of Epidemiology, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of Utah School of Medicine. This position will support a study at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. The ResearchAssociate will report to Sara J Knight, PhD, Study Multiple Principal Investigator. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience. In this role, the Research Development Associate will work closely with one of the project Multiple Principal Investigators responsible for the survey and interview studies. During onboarding, this position requires training specific to VA research, human research participant compliance activities, and other regulatory requirements. The Binder Cognition Lab seeks a ResearchAssociate to work on an NIH R15-funded project examining literacy profiles of adults with low literacy skills. The position involves close collaboration with the Principal Investigator and plays a key role in project administration, community coordination, and supervision of undergraduate research assistants. This role is ideal for recent graduates planning to pursue graduate study in cognitive or developmental psychology or related fields.
Essential Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and confidential participant records, consent forms, and databases
* Administer screening measures to adult participants
* Coordinate data collection and scheduling at community partner sites
* Communicate professionally with community partners
* Assist with grant budgets, reports, and applications
* Train, supervise, and mentor undergraduate research assistants
* Ensure adherence to research protocols and ethical standards
* Support data analysis and research dissemination (posters and manuscripts)
Required Qualifications
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Ability to supervise and provide feedback to undergraduate students
Preferred Qualifications
* Interest in graduate study in cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, or a related field
