ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform grounds keeping duties Complete preventative maintenance on landscaping equipment Cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mowers, trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls Trim trees to maintain proper growth or to eliminate a danger threat Plant and maintain ornamental grasses and flowers on a seasonal basis Trim and weed multiple flower beds and containers Maintain clean work environment Shovel snow and apply ice treatment to provide safe environment for staff, visitors, and students Remove unsightly trash and debris from public areas by regularly inspecting grounds Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor WORKING CONDITIONS Monday - Friday,7:00 am to 3:30 pm, some evening or weekend schedules may be required Outdoor, may be required to work in extreme weather conditions Average 20 hours per week, no more than 29 hours per week Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship?with God High school diploma or equivalent Familiar with common landscaping equipment and tools Positive attitude Self-starter with a desire and willingness to learn Must hold a valid driver's license Able to pass background screening, including driving record Eligible to work in the United States Strong attention to detail Communicate with people on campus in a professional manner; must be professional and personable Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Able to operate small and large power equipment The work can be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and shoveling. Must be able to push, pull, lift, or move?a minimum of 50?pounds Able to sit, stand, walk, or kneel for prolonged periods of time???????
