This position is located on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, AL.
Auburn University's **Office for the Sr. Vice President of Research and Economic Development** is accepting applications for the position of **Senior Sponsored Programs Officer** . This position manages one of the Sponsored Programs teams and facilitates a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities for the extramurally funded research, instruction, outreach, and extension activities at the institutional level throughout Auburn University, the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station, and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. These responsibilities include contract and grant terms review, approval & negotiation, proposal development, review & submission, contract and grant management, contracts and grants funded equipment management, and providing regulatory, policy, and procedural guidance related to such activities. These responsibilities require frequent communication and engagement with stakeholders across campus and with federal, state, industry, nonprofit, and other sponsoring entities. Individuals serving in this role will also be responsible for the scheduled and ad hoc training of Sponsored Programs staff, in conjunction with office leadership.
**Essential Functions**
+ Coordinates, advises, and supports faculty and staff on extramural proposals for research, instruction, outreach, and extension activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, University, and sponsor rules and regulations and maintains the authority to submit proposals on behalf of the University, as needed.
+ Prepares, reviews, and negotiates highly complex contracts, amendments, documents, and instruments of a legal character for the Office of Sponsored Programs. This includes, but is not limited to, fixed price and cost reimbursable sponsored research agreements, master agreements, task orders, memoranda of understanding, consortium agreements, teaming agreements, and other contracts associated with externally funded research, instruction, outreach, and extension activities.
+ Evaluates, interprets, negotiates and applies federal, sponsor, and University policies and regulations to determine acceptable conditions of awards including such areas as conflict of interest, export control, intellectual property, indemnity, governing law, cost principles, data and information security requirements, human subjects, animal subjects and lab safety while referring relevant matters to the appropriate University office and/or personnel (i.e., General Counsel, The Office of Research Compliance, the Office of Research Security Compliance, The Intellectual Property Exchange, the Office of Risk Management, the Office of Audit, Compliance & Privacy, the Office of International Programs, and Contracts and Grants Accounting).
+ Manages and facilitates for a specific team within OSP award change requests including rebudgeting, pre-award costs, carryover of unobligated balances, and no-cost-extensions and assists with the acquisition, management, and reporting for sponsor-funded equipment and materials while maintaining records and titles through the lifecycle of a sponsored award.
+ Provides regulatory guidance to faculty, administrative units, and staff ensuring compliance with and adherence to relevant laws and regulations governing sponsored research while building trust and providing efficient and effective service to diverse constituents both internally and externally.
+ Maintains proficiency in interpreting and applying federal regulations governing sponsored programs including 2CFR 200, the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, standard federal research terms and conditions, and other agency-specific requirements. Remains current with developments in university-sponsored contracting and research administration through participation in professional development activities such as attendance at professional meetings and in-house webinars and other informational sessions.
+ Assists with the development, review, and maintenance of policies, procedures, tools, and resources based on the changing regulatory environment.
+ Delivers scheduled and ad hoc training for staff within the Office of Sponsored Programs. Trains incoming staff on matters originating within a specific team, including training on contract review and negotiation and proposal and solicitation review and preparation. Reviews and updates training materials in concert with developments in the field and feedback from the Associate Director. Provides direct supervision for the workload, development, and training of the Sponsored Programs Officers under the assigned academic units.

Auburn University's Advancement Office is currently providing a full-time paid summer internship for Summer 2026. Auburn Advancement encourages students from all backgrounds to examine different careers in the nonprofit sector, promote the advancement of Auburn University through fundraising programming, and engage with employees, alumni, and donors.
Auburn Advancement will provide interns with 10 weeks of work experience, from May 20 to August 7. Internships are open to rising sophomores through May 2026 graduates from Auburn University and Auburn University Montgomery. Interns will earn $14.00/hour and will have an unpaid vacation week from June 29-July 3. Auburn University will also be closed on May 25th and June 19th.
Essential Functions
* Interns will spend time with various fundraising constituencies across campus where they will attend donor visits, shadow unit meetings, and assist in targeted frontline experiences. Interns will also spend time in a central rotation where they will gain experience in non-fundraising roles in advancement including engagement, advancement marketing, portfolio strategy, culture and talent, advancement boards, etc.
* Weekly educational sessions will be provided by subject-matter experts to enrich overall knowledge and experience with all areas of the Advancement industry.
* At the end of the internship, all interns are expected to prepare a final presentation highlighting their experiences and projects during their time in the program.
* Housing and benefits are not available through the internship program and interns must live within driving distance of Auburn University.

4. Creates, approves, and/or implements landscape designs, schedules, purchases, and plant selection for various sites throughout campus. Identifies areas for landscaping improvements and corrects any aesthetic-related issues.
5. Ensures that University grounds, streets, and parking lots are kept free of dirt, leaves, trash, and other debris through the use and maintenance of litter control equipment.
6. Plans and oversees the safety and equipment training, scheduling, and development of assigned staff. Responsible for maintaining records of work orders, purchases, activities, time, and schedules. Gathers metrics and provides reports.
7. Coordinates landscape plans and activities with the Office of University Architect, project managers, outside contractors, utility personnel, and other landscape personnel. Communicates with others to keep them informed of work progress, provide project support, and answer detailed inquiries.
8. Oversees proper moisture, soil, sun, shade, chemical, and seasonal needs to ensure the health and care of plants.
9. Serves as subject matter expert in identifying, diagnosing, and treating plant disease, pests, drought stress, and other plant needs. Oversees pesticide equipment, sprayers, and fertilizer spreaders. Reads and interprets pesticide labels and applies pesticides according to label recommendations.
10. Maintains fleet and tool inventory. Oversees the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of various landscaping equipment such as backhoes, tractors and implements, specialized mowers, and various heavy equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
11. May work outside of normal operating hours and days to manage special events, emergencies, and inclement weather.
12. May be responsible for meeting and maintaining training and certification requirements as outlined by the applicable department's training and credentialing requirements. May perform other landscape-related duties as assigned.

The Physics Specialist position is responsible for recruiting high school science teachers to participate in AMSTI/ASIM; implementing a flexible communication system for scheduling labs; preparing activities/labs and supplies for the lab; submission of a weekly itinerary to ASIM Project Director; delivering activities/labs and supplies to participating AMSTI/ASIM teachers as scheduled; providing on-site support and mentoring for new or beginning teachers whenever possible; assisting with laboratory activities, delivering on-site professional development, and providing other training as needed; providing coaching to teachers to help increase their skills and move them to higher performance levels on the Alabama Continuum for Teacher Development based on the Alabama Quality Teaching Standards; coordinating work with the AMSTI site; picking up activities/labs and supplies from participating AMSTI/ASIM teachers in a timely manner; ordering, organizing, and maintaining activities/labs and supplies so they are readily available for classroom use; planning and implementing workshops to train high school science teachers to use AMSTI/ASIM activities/labs; teaching teachers the content background, how to use the activities/labs, and how to effectively lead students through the lab; planning and implementing workshops to train high school science teachers in other areas of science education such as laboratory safety, Science Course of Study, and other topics as needed; working with AMSTI/ASIM teachers and other specialists in developing new lab activities for high school students; attending statewide specialist meetings; participing in the continual improvement and implementation of AMSTI/ASIM; establishing and maintaining open communication with the SDE, project director and teachers; facilitating in a timely preparation and submission of the quarterly financial reports that include proper categorization of expenditures; organizing, properly updating, and promptly submitting Program Report information (visits, class roster, workshop attendance, AMSTI/ASIM inventory, and workshop agendas); communicating regularly regarding use of the AMSTI/ASIM activities/labs and training for AMSTI directors, project directors, system superintendents, principals, and teachers; facilitating the cleaning and maintenance of the AMSTI/ASIM vehicle; collaborating with AMSTI site director and specialist; and assisting AMSTI program with the development and piloting of the new activities/labs as requested.

The purpose of this position is to assist in the promotion of the University of Montevallo's graduate programs and the recruitment of students through content coordination of the associated communication and social media.
Essential Job Duties
* Respond to all potential student-athletes in a timely manner through assigned communication mediums, specifically electronic communication.
* Collaborate with Athletic Department staff as well as other departments across campus to help with eligibility.
* Help keep student-athlete recruitment and retention materials up to date.
* Collaborate with Athletic Department staff to manage, clean up, and organize the paper and electronic file structure, and other office files.
* Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree required and enrollment in a UM graduate degree program.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, strong organizational skills, and proof-reading documents.
* Willingness to learn and develop compliance computer program Teamworks.
* Ability and maturity to handle/maintain confidentiality at all times;
* Strong verbal and written professional communication skills;
* Ability to work both in a team setting and independently;
* Ability to respond in a customer-service-type role to messages and inquiries in a timely manner.
* Ability to maintain a positive, professional and collegial attitude at all times;
* Flexible with time but dependability is necessary!
