As part of the College of Information Science and Technology (IS&T), Cybersecurity ( CYBR ) prepares students to take part in a rapidly expanding field devoted to keeping users and information systems safe from adversarial attacks. Our program is accredited as a National Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security Center of Academic Excellence ( CAE ) in Cyber Defense (CD) and Cyber Operations (CO), a designation shared with only 13 other schools nationwide. The CAE -CO program is a deeply technical, interdisciplinary, higher education program firmly grounded in the computer science, computer engineering, and/or electrical engineering disciplines, with extensive opportunities for hands-on applications via labs. We offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees that engage students in a dynamic, hands-on curriculum and includes opportunities for research, creative activity, community service, and industrial engagement. As industry and government face a shortfall of cybersecurity practitioners, the demand for our students has increased. CYBR is the fastest growing program in the college and one of the fastest in the university. Housed within the School of Interdisciplinary Informatics, CYBR includes 6 tenure-track faculty and 2 full-time instructors that support 227 undergraduate students and 42 graduate students.
