The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) has two 100% remote 10-week summer research internship positions opening up. The internships are an opportunity to gain hands-on experience by assisting in research projects, engaging in literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, reporting, and potentially contributing to conference presentations and/or publications. The Intern Research Associate program at the AOA is for those currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in fields such as psychometrics, measurement, statistics, l/O psychology, or data science. This fully remote 10-week internship beginning June 2026 involves working closely with experienced psychometricians and assessment experts. Interns will gain hands-on experience with AOA data and research projects that support the organization's mission of advancing the distinctive philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine. The Certifying Board Services (CBS) department serves 73 certification and certificate programs across 15 specialty certifying boards. Interns will work and collaborate with the psychometric and assessment teams of the CBS department to support the AOA's research agenda. The role provides an opportunity to support operational and research initiatives and offers practical experience in certification testing. Research topics may include exam design and development, administration and supportive validity studies for our certification and osteopathic continuing certification exams. Responsibilities Interns will work closely with the psychometric and assessment teams to develop a research plan for the internship. Over the 10 weeks, interns will attend weekly meetings with their supervisor to discuss progress and address questions, and with one or more research project teams to discuss ongoing work. Activities may include conducting and writing literature reviews, data gathering/cleaning, programming in R or Python, item and exam analyses with CTT and IRT, performing statistical analyses such as DIF or regression analysis, writing reports, and delivering presentations. RAPID is now implemented in community, state, and national contexts, working in partnership with local and state organizations. All members of the study team will play an integral role in providing timely and important data on the experiences of families with young children. This Research Coordinator will work collaboratively with RAPID's Project Leads and research team to incorporate new measures into the online survey instruments, administer the monthly surveys and collect data, and prepare those data for analysis. For the past 30 years, we have been conducting the Northwestern Juvenile Project, a longitudinal study of the health needs and outcomes of 1,829 youth involved with the justice system (now median age 44). DevSci provides specialized infrastructure, resources, scientific exchange opportunities and training to over 300 faculty, students and staff from disciplines ranging from pediatrics, developmental psychopathology, prevention, developmental science, education, neuroscience, and population health. It also oversees the Neurodevelopmental Assessment & Training Core at Northwestern University which enables the integration of state of the art developmentally-sensitive neuroimaging, physiologic and performance-based developmental assessment methods into multi-faceted research programs. Developmental Mechanisms Program The Developmental Mechanisms program, directed by Dr. Laurie Wakschlag, conducts research at the intersection of developmental and clinical science, spanning the prenatal period through early childhood. The DevMech program of research aims to characterize early developmental patterns marking emergent mental health and other neurodevelopmental risk as well as prenatal influences on these pathways, and application to prevention. Multiple state-of-the-art, developmentally sensitive methods are used, including EEG and MRI, as well as developmentally sensitive behavioral, cognitive and family assessments and assessments of the social ecology. Job Summary: The Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease is a multi-departmental component of the Feinberg School of Medicine. We specialize in the clinical care and scientific study of neurological diseases that interfere with cognition and behavior. Areas of emphasis include age-related memory impairments and dementias. Our three interacting missions are to investigate the causes and clinical characteristics of neurodegenerative diseases, to ensure that our patients are the beneficiaries of the latest advances, and to explore the neural foundations of behavior and cognition in health and disease. This position will assist with clinical trials at the Mesulam Center. This position performs biomedical &/or social-behavioral research by administering tests &/or questionnaires following protocols; collecting, compiling, tabulating &/or processing responses; gathering information; &/or assisting in the preparation of material for inclusion in reports. Completes all activities by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH). Department: MED-Impact Institute Salary/Grade: NEX/11 The HIV Implementation Science Coordination Initiative (ISCI) is seeking a Research Study Coordinator interested in advancing the use of dissemination and implementation science methods in HIV and accelerating the uptake of implementation research findings in HIV practice. The coordinator will join a highly collaborative team and engage in a wide range of research activities including but not limited to systematic reviews of HIV implementation literature, data coordination and harmonization of HIV research projects, tool and resource development and dissemination, and training of researchers and practitioners. The coordinator will have opportunities to analyze existing data, author/co-author manuscripts, and pursue independent research questions.
