The Landscape Evolution and Luminescence Geochronology Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studies how landscapes evolve and change due to environmental and anthropogenic drivers. Much of the lab's work involves dating sediments or artifacts with luminescence dating methods. As a Geology Research Technician, you will: * Process sediment samples and analyze sediment and soil samples in the laboratory. Analyses will include dating sediments with optically-stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating and particle size analysis of samples using a laser diffraction particle size analyzer. * Subsample sediment and soil cores for analysis. * Assist with generating materials for publications, including geologic maps and other manuscripts.
