Brooks Distinguished Endowed Professorship in Nursing with a focus on Community Health and Health Equity. This prestigious position seeks an accomplished scholar, educator, and leader committed to solidify the UNCP's and McKenzie-Elliott School of Nursing influence and leadership in advocating for access to quality care locally in Roberson County and Southeastern NC region and understanding how social determinants impact health and well-being. Investigators can use bench or epidemiologic methods, and might work in cells, animal models or humans. A track record of competitive grant funding from the NIH (or equivalent) for research and relevant peer-reviewed publications in high quality journals is required. The Nutrition Research Institute will provide an annual commitment of "hard money." In addition, the Institute will provide start-up funding. The Nutrition Research Institute is housed in a modern 125,000 sf facility with state of the art labs and equipment, outstanding core animal facility, and an outpatient human clinical facility.
