You will be responsible providing accounting services as part of OCU's overall financial operations and function including general ledger accounting, receivables and cash receipts processing, bank account monitoring, gift and pledge transaction processing and tracking, classifying transactions, account reconciliations, budget and fund transfers, journal voucher processing and posting, general data entry and maintenance in the primary ERP and Accounting database (i.e. Banner), account analysis and research, as well as other financial accounting activities. An associate's degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is required at minimum. Other college or professional education may be acceptable, depending on its nature and relevance. Experience in the Higher Education or Non-Profit industries is a plus, but not a requirement. You're required to have a minimum of 2 year's accounting or Bookkeeping experience that demonstrates a strong competency the basics of these fields and administrative work. A suitable combination of education and experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or other related fields may be substituted in certain circumstances for the above minimum qualifications. The Administrative/Financial Coordinator position provides professional administrative support and assists with financial support in the School of Biological Sciences.
