The Stephenson Cancer Center's Health Promotion Research Center (HPRC) is now hiring for a Staff Research Assistant - Tulsa. This position works on multiple ongoing research studies and it serves as the first point of contact for participants at HPRC. Primary duties include completing participant referrals, screening applicants, data collection, record keeping, data analyses, and report preparation. Research studies include multiple NIH funded and pilot randomized controlled trials focused on health behavior change (e.g., smoking cessation, alcohol use reduction/cessation, marijuana use reduction/cessation). Duties: * THIS IS NOT A BIOMEDICAL/BENCH SCIENCE LAB POSITION. * Participates in clinical research projects collecting data from patients and/or participants in a study. Completes informed consent procedures with study participants. * Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects, which could include database information and/or hard files. (e.g., in-person questionnaires, smartphone-based questionnaires) pertaining to smartphone and tablet-based research projects. * Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects, which could include database information and/or hard files. * Conducts data analyses, interprets data, draws conclusions, and discusses with principal investigator. * Keeps detailed logs of all research related projects or activities. * Conducts literature searches. * Prepares various reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content that may be submitted for publication. * Constructs tests or assists in the construction of tests. * Collaborates with other researchers or colleagues. * Participates in meetings and presents research findings to fellow researchers and Principal Investigator. * Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. The research assistant is responsible for recruiting study subjects, data collection, and conducting supportive tasks that ensure successful research visits for study subjects. The research assistant will be trained to collect data including survey questionnaires, EEG acquisition, MRI scans with infants, babies, and children, biospecimen collection, biosensors collection, and behavioral assessments. Supportive tasks include providing support to additional family members during visits, planning and executing team or board meetings, and preparing for data collection. Responsibilities: Recruit research participants for the study at local OBGYN Clinics, Substance Use Treatment Centers, community events, and other community partner agencies Perform inventory of all study supplies and work with Project Manager to reorder when necessary. Prepare biological samples for shipment to HBCD laboratories, using dry ice, and using extreme caution for identifying the correct samples. Be trained on infant testing measures such as the NIH Baby Toolbox and Deferred Imitation; and managing data for the OSU site. The Nanofusion Research Laboratory, under the guidance of Prof. Sachan, works on developing a fundamental understanding of the fabrication and properties of novel nanoscale materials using nanosecond laser-driven synthesis routes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation nanomaterials using advanced high-throughput experimentation. The selected candidate will explore the thin film synthesis using pulsed laser methodologies and investigate the atomic-scale characteristics of metastable phases of boron nitride. This project is part of a broader effort to develop methods for synthesizing diamond and cubic boron nitride (cBN) under atmospheric pressure, where they are metastable, thereby avoiding the limitations of synthesis by high-temperature, high-pressure, or chemical vapor deposition techniques, which are difficult to scale. The candidate will prepare regular reports for funding agencies, as well as research manuscripts for publication. Additional responsibilities include project management and training/supervising graduate and undergraduate students. Qualifications: Ph.D. with related experience including nanoscale materials synthesis, laser processing, transmission electron microscopy. A basic understanding of Materials Science will be essential for the position. Prior experience with thin film synthesis, transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scripting with Python/Matlab will be highly desirable. PhD degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program is preferred, along with experience in materials applications. The position is based at the OSU Hardesty Center for Clinical Research and Neuroscience in Tulsa, Oklahoma - a growing hub for translational neuroscience and advanced biomedical imaging. POSITION OVERVIEW The successful candidate will play a central role in the design, leadership, collection, and analysis of prenatal/fetal and infant MRI/fMRI data. This project, which is a collaboration between the labs of Drs. Julie Croff (maternal and child health) and Kyle Simmons (neuroimaging and GLP-1RAs), integrates neuroimaging, clinical, and behavioral approaches to better understand how prenatal exposure to GLP-1RA medications may influence early neurodevelopment. Candidates must have strong, demonstrated experience in neuroimaging analysis to be considered for this position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and assist in MRI/fMRI data acquisition, with emphasis on prenatal and early infant imaging. Conduct neuroimaging data preprocessing, quality control, and statistical analyses using established pipelines (AFNI, FSL, SPM, or similar). Develop, optimize, and maintain analysis pipelines and shell scripts for large, complex imaging datasets. Contribute to manuscript preparation, conference presentations, and grant submissions. Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of neuroscientists, clinicians, and imaging specialists at OSU and partner institutions. Required Qualifications Ph.D./Ed.D. Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, psychology, physiology, or a related field. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: Interest in neurodevelopment and/or early brain maturation Demonstrated experience with MRI/fMRI data acquisition. POSITION INFORMATION: We are searching for a full-time Bilingual Research Associate to work on our Educare Implementation Study and other research projects. The Educational Research Associate will work closely with Educare staff, children and families to evaluate children's development and classroom practice. Duties include conducting child assessments, classroom observations, collecting staff and family surveys and interviews, and assisting the PI and project director with all other project related duties.
