QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree and be board-certified/eligible as an HLA lab director by the American College for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI). Experience and training in a high-complexity ASHI-certified/eligible clinical laboratory supporting solid organ and bone marrow transplantation are required.
The responsibilities for the position include:
Responsible for the clinical oversight of HLA Lab; assist the HLA Lab Director in all aspects of patient management, both pre- and post-transplantation for all solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipient; review all test protocols and provide technical support, as well as participate in the review of quality assurance and quality control protocols and proficiency testing for antibody analysis and tissue typing; consult with and advise physicians on test interpretation and provide consultation prior and post any intervention; participate in preparation for all laboratory inspections and accreditation visits including from the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI), CAP, New York; participate in educational activities including teaching of Pathology Residents and Clinical Fellows rotating through the HLA Lab and engage in academic activities to promote clinical translational research; provide educational seminars and training of laboratory staff to assure their competency and efficiency; conduct research to develop methodologies, instrumentation, and procedures for medical application, analyzing data and presenting findings to scientific audience and the general public; and required to rotate with the Lab Director to provide 24/7 on call telemedicine consultation coverage for the various transplant services.

Overview
The Office of Child Development is recognized nationally for its leadership in advancing the well-being of children and families. Through a comprehensive approach, OCD delivers high quality training programs, provides technical assistance, and undertakes applied research and evaluation projects. These efforts are designed to improve outcomes for children and families not only within the region, but also across international communities. To lead such initiatives in research, praxis, policy, and community engagement, the OCD Director position requires:
