Graduate Studies in Nursing College of Nursing and Public Health The College of Nursing and Public Health at Adelphi University invites qualified candidates to apply for a Full-Time Clinical Assistant Professor position in the graduate program to begin in August 2026. Tenure-track will be considered if qualified, and the candidate will be required to maintain an active research agenda.
Adelphi is reviewing the recent governmental changes to the H1B process and is encouraging all qualified candidates to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching: 18 credits/year. Teaching responsibilities within the nurse practitioner and DNP program primarily; however, all faculty may be required to teach across programs (BS, MS, DNP, PhD).
Actively participate in College of Nursing and Public Health and University committees, and contribute to Adelphi University's mission and strategic plan.
Student advisement.
Assist with administrative activities based on candidate skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Service activities include department, college, and university level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A master's degree in nursing.
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or research doctorate in nursing (PhD, DNS) or education (EdD) is required.
Licensure and national board certification as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner.
A NYS RN and NP license or eligible for licensure in New York State.
Relevant clinical nursing experience.
Experience in simulation technology, online or blended learning, research, and education.

SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $98,000 - $102,000. Organizational Function and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for instruction in the Medical Assistant program at the college level. This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, division and college levels.
This position reports to the Department Chair in the School of Health Education.
Essential Duties:
The following duties are typically expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
1. Responsible for instruction in the Medical Assistant program including but not limited to the following courses: Medical Assistant Administrative Procedures, Human Body in Health and Disease, Medical Assisting Laboratory Procedures 1 & 2, Medical Assisting Clinical Procedures 1 & 2 , Medical Office Insurance and Finance, Pharmacology for Allied Health, Medical Law, Ethics and Professionalism.
2. Develop and plan appropriate instructional strategies and alternative delivery strategies when appropriate including but not limited to hybrid, face-to-face and on-line course delivery.
3. Participate in in-service meetings, staff development training or other activities or programs requested by the Department.
4. Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
5. Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, evaluating student performance and maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.
6. Maintain competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
7. Assist students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work study assignments, etc.
8. Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision and values.

1. Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender and disability.
