UPMC is hiring a full-time Mental Health Counselor I for Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough. The role involves providing and coordinating counseling and casework services within the MH Residential Programs, and assisting individuals with daily living, financial, socialization, mobility, and survival skills. The incumbent will be supporting the Fifth Ave Residential Home. The shift for this role is overnight, from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The ideal candidate would be supportive of and a resource for residents. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $3,500! Responsibilities: * Working at various sites and familiarizing with orientation binders. * Working independently under stress without imposing personal beliefs. * Staying calm and supportive in emergencies. * Establishing effective relationships with consumers and meeting weekly to discuss progress and goals. * Providing education, guidance, and crisis intervention. * Assessing and documenting consumer functioning, developing service plans, and completing required documentation. * Being flexible with work schedules and staying awake during shifts. * Providing quality services regardless of consumer issues. * Assisting with medical appointments, financial assistance, daily living skills, and public transportation. * Orienting consumers to the community and educating on emergency procedures. * Teaching social skills and encouraging recreational activities. * Communicating with the treatment team and attending relevant meetings. * Acting as a liaison to service providers as per the consumer's service plan.
