**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for the identification/collection, entry, maintenance, and reporting of data into the trauma registry for the Pediatric Trauma Program as required by the New York State Department of Health (NY DOH) and the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) based on the NY DOH and NTDB standards. Will serve as trauma registry expert for the pediatric trauma program and ensure the registry contains accurate and reliable data for use by the program. Timely, accurate registry data produced by the trauma registrar is necessary to support daily functions of the Pediatric Trauma Program, verification/accreditation, national benchmarking, and performance improvement and research activities. Data are also entered into the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Trauma Quality Improvement Project (TQIP) database to allow risk-adjusted benchmarking for quality improvement.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
Registry Abstraction:
+ Accurately identify all trauma admissions, transfers, and deaths, using clinical identifiers and strict inclusion/exclusion criteria.
+ Complete and verify for accuracy all data collected according to standards outlined by regulatory bodies- New York State/American College of Surgeons and as directed by the Trauma Program Manager (PTM) and Trauma Medical Director (TMD), including identification of all injuries, procedures, complications and outcomes.
+ Complete data abstraction of clinical information into the registry both concurrently and retrospectively while meeting frequent data deadlines.
+ Assign and accurately score all injuries utilizing the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) and validate ICD diagnostic codes, operative codes, E-codes and modify as needed.
+ Daily tracking on hospitalized patients reviewing patient charts for additional data indicators, and completion of concurrent data abstraction.
+ Coordinate with other program staff, departments, and agencies as needed to gather all data necessary to complete the abstraction on each patient, including trauma program leadership/faculty, attending and resident physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and pre-hospital personnel.
+ Clarify injury descriptions and detail when necessary, from clinical providers to obtain accurate injury severity scoring and improve hospital reimbursement and resource allocation.
Registry Reporting:
+ Analyze and interpret trauma data to provide both routine and ad hoc reports of trauma statistics and quality assurance filters used for weekly process improvement meetings, routine volume reporting, annual comprehensive reports, education/injury prevention, financial analysis, internal requests, and external oversight: ie) NYS DOH, ACS Committee on Trauma
Registry Management:
+ Monitor security of data to ensure the integrity and reliability of database systems and ensure preventative and routine maintenance for the trauma registry.
+ Maintain all reference materials necessary for trauma registry, coding, and abstracting.
+ Research, evaluate and recommend changes in equipment to facilitate trauma registry.
+ Resolve technical software or reporting issues with internal systems as well as software vendor as needed.
+ Responsible for identifying areas for streamlining and process improvement in the data collection process.
+ Maintain quality data standards for submission to internal/external databases via frequent validation reports provided by trauma registry staff, program leadership, as well as external bodies, ie) TQIP, NTDB, NYS DOH
+ Attend registry vendor sponsored training workshops/meetings to maximize trauma registry utilization and performance.
Registry Admin Duties
+ Oversee the conversion, upload, and transfer of trauma registry data to other designated database systems, including local, state, and national systems; (NYS DOH, NTDB, TQIP)
+ Serve as a resource and mentor to other trauma registry staff.
+ Serve as integral part of regulatory trauma re-verification/designation process
Trauma Program Activities
+ Attends various meetings for the Pediatric Trauma Program including Pediatric Multidisciplinary Trauma Peer Review and Trauma Systems and Operations Committee meetings
+ Attends weekly registry meeting with other members of the registry team and Pediatric Trauma Program leadership
+ As time and funding allow, participates in national, state, and local meetings, work groups, and educational conferences in order to maintain and expand trauma registry knowledge base, including, but not limited to New York State Trauma Advisory Council Registry Subcommittee meetings and annual national TQIP meetings.

Position Summary
The Department of Biostatistics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to provide analytical and technical support for several health research projects focusing on the health impacts of environmental factors and extreme weather. Many of these projects are based in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda under the umbrella of the NIH funded Global, Environmental and Occupational Health (GEOHealth) Hub for Eastern Africa. Studies focus on investigating the effects of ambient air pollution on respiratory, cardiovascular and cognitive outcomes of cohorts of school children and their mothers. Additional studies focus on the impact of extreme heat stress on the productivity and health of agricultural workers. All studies aim towards promoting air pollution and extreme heat management regulation. The Data Analyst will work closely with investigators from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and partners from the Colorado School of Public Health, Colorado State University and University of Maryland. The data analyst will also work closely with data teams at Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), University of Nairobi (Kenya) and Makerere University (Uganda).

Position Summary:
The Quality and Data Specialist of the Columbia University (CU) Human Research Protection Office (HRPO)/Institutional Review Boards (IRB) reports to the Business Operations Manager of the HRPO. For individual projects, the IRB Specialist will work closely with another senior member of the office. This position will contribute to efficiency and quality control and improvement by collecting, organizing, generating, analyzing and reporting on data about all aspects of office operations.

The Research Data Scientist will play a critical role in this initiative, leveraging their expertise in computational research to develop and optimize workflows and applications that unlock Marlowe's capabilities.
This role requires a deep understanding of computational and data science, machine learning, and the scientific process. It also demands the ability to leverage high-performance GPU computing to efficiently process and analyze large datasets. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Stanford faculty and research groups to design, implement, and refine GPU-accelerated data processing pipelines. **Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE
Gathers information, analyzes and interprets data and disseminates information. Reviews daily pharmaceutical orders. Independently manages procurement of medications via wholesaler and direct from manufacturers. Negotiates with vendors to obtain optimum service and price. Monitors and analyzes pricing and adherence to contracts. Ensures inventory supply, order processing and distribution of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Identifies vendors, requests technical or performance specifications, and obtains product information regarding availability and lead times. Oversees pharmaceutical purchases via wholesaler or direct from manufacturers. Generates purchase orders and maintains contact with vendors related to pricing and shipping.
+ Manages specialty and limited access drugs, some of which are patient specific. Works with specialty pharmacies and manufacturers to determine eligibility and manages the scheduling of deliveries as needed for patient care.
+ Runs various reports to track high cost or non-formulary medications. Evaluate the need for additional orders based on current inventory.
+ Fulfills clinic order requests. Identifies and scans appropriate products in electronic health record and validates appropriate medication requests are distributed in a timely manner. Follows up on orders to confirm completion.
+ Manages default NDC settings and identifies the most appropriate NDCs for purchase. Ensures appropriate NDCs are setup when distributing medications to clinics.
+ Identifies new electronic health record build requests. Manages submission and follow up of tickets in collaboration with informatics team and supply chain leadership.
+ Confers routinely with vendors and departments to follow up on backorders, payment problems or service issues. Collaborates with others regarding availability of shortage products and expected availability.
+ Verifies price quotes for small dollar transactions for other departments and provides reporting guidance for administrators related to ledger expenses generated by pharmacy distributions.
+ Handles phone calls and advises faculty and staff on appropriate procurement procedures. Provides information related to ordering, invoicing, and replenishment.
+ Manages ticketing database, requesting additional information as needed or completing requests to keep lists up to date. Assists in maintaining vendor database information (ASC).

**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
+ Bachelor's degree in social or technical field and 1 year of Pharmacy and/or 340B experience required

Familiarity with statistics and statistical analysis, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, ability to visually portray data preferred.
