The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma prides itself on being the
only public liberal arts college in the state. For over 100 years, the
school has made liberal arts education available to Oklahoma students. Though it's a public school, USAO has many of the features that make a
private liberal arts college so appealing. The school is quite small for
a public institution, delivering the intimate experience of attending a
small liberal arts college. USAO administers its academics through five divisions: * Interdisciplinary Studies * Arts and Humanities * Business and Social Sciences * Education and Speech Language Pathology * Math, Science and Physical Education The university's Teacher Education Program, which is the centerpiece of
the Division of Education and Speech Pathology, is particularly
successful. Concentrations within this program include Early Childhood
Education, Education for the Deaf and PK-12 Teacher Certification. USAO prides itself on minimizing its students' debt. Available financial
aid for eligible students includes federal aid programs and institutional
scholarships, such as the Academic Scholars Program, Green & Gold and
Talent Plus. There are also several awards specifically for non-Oklahoma
