We are hiring an AssistantDirector of Health Government Relations to join the department's Health Policy Governments Relations team. Reporting to the Vice President, this multifaceted role will advance the USC Health System's policy priorities at the federal, state, and local levels of government. The assistantdirector will provide strategic analyst support on federal and state policy related to hospital financing, healthcare regulatory changes, graduate medical education, and other healthcare issues.
Position Responsibilities:
The AssistantDirector of Health Government Relations is responsible for researching, analyzing, and evaluating federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory issues to update and advise the Vice President of Health Policy on appropriate strategic solutions for advocacy and public policy that may impact the organization. In addition, this role monitors government matters and policies of interest for the health system. The incumbent builds relations with trade associations, civic organizations, and healthcare entities/leaders to present the hospital's and university's positions on critical legislative and regulatory matters.
* Monitors, reviews, researches, analyzes, and evaluates legislative and regulatory issues and government policies to update and advise on appropriate strategic solutions for advocacy and public policy that may impact the health system to the Vice President.
* Ensures that new and revised legislation and regulations about the health system are communicated to the appropriate parties and that changes are implemented to maintain compliance and quality.
* Collaborates with internal stakeholders on regulatory and policy impacts.
* Prepare regular briefings, policy updates, and presentations.
* Prepare advocacy plans and engage in advocacy activities representing the health system, including possible delegation visits to Sacramento and Washington, D.C.
* Acts as the liaison in maintaining critical relationships between the health system and trade organizations in Sacramento, D.C., and locally.
* Works collaboratively with internal federal, state, and local government relations teams and other University Relations colleagues to develop relationships with key elected officials and their staff/committee members to promote USC Health System's initiatives and programs.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; master's or professional degree preferred.
* Minimum of 5-7 years with government relations legislative or public affairs management or equivalent. Demonstrated strategic advocacy experience.
* Strong organizational and project management/time management ability. Excellent written and verbal communication, including comfortable with public speaking.
* Thorough understanding of the California legislative and budgetary process.
* Basic understanding of Congressional processes and critical committees.
* Specific knowledge of policy issues impacting the healthcare industry and academic medical centers.
* Ability to evaluate complex problems/emerging policy issues and identify their potential implications for the health system.
* Effective relationship-building and collaboration skills.

This position's annual base salary range is $115,500. Essential Duties:
* Strategic financial planning and Budgeting. Leading the creation of the school's annual operating budget, ensuring it aligns with the long-term financial and operational goals of the schools.
* Responsible for managing the budget and identifying trends in revenue or expense that will cause under performance for budget goals.
* Long-term forecasting. Developing multi-year financial models (3-5 years) to predict future enrollment trends, staffing costs, operational expenses and capital funding needs.
* Resource allocation working across the schools to advise on available resources and distribute in line with priorities.
* Acting as the liaison for internal and external auditors; ensuring the school remains compliant with USC policies and financial.
* Establishing and enforcing financial policies to prevent fraud and ensure transparency in all transactions.
* Supporting creation of grant and gift budget allocations and implementing appropriate tracking of restricted funds to ensure they are spent according to legal and donor requirements.
* Managing contract process with vendors for professional services utilizing USC procurement processes and requirements.

JOB PURPOSE:
Under minimal supervision, perform the most complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, health, and safety disciplines to ensure a safe work environment and to achieve compliance with the university's environmental, health, and safety standards and government regulatory requirements. This role prioritizes ecological controls (including pest control and mitigations) as well as auditing for environmental optimization and health and safety measures of buildings through the lens of urban rodentology and entomology.

* Conduct comprehensive, independent compliance assurance reviews of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures; prepare accompanying management reports, documentation, and evaluations.
* Monitor and prevent potential hazards and unsafe conditions that could be present in the work area.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, and complaints concerning potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the workplace.
* Recommend and implement improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize the hazard potential, with a focus on rodent infiltration and mitigation.
* May lead a team (consultants, temporary labor, etc.) responsible for developing and implementing environmental and/or safety programs. This includes providing oversight to third-party vendors performing relevant services, such as pest control.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in arts/science in related allied/scientific field and seven years progressively responsible experience in occupational safety and health, emergency response/management, environmental science, and/or allied/scientific field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Training in the sciences of rodentology and entomology are highly desired and sought after.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct effective health and safety surveys, quantitative and qualitative exposure/risk assessments, and most complex data analyses; ability to provide recommendations for exposure/risk control.

Stanford Athletics is seeking a full-time AssistantDirector of Sports Nutrition, and Coordinator of Medical Nutrition Therapy to work effectively with Sports Performance and Sports Medicine to provide a comprehensive approach to Student Athlete's health and performance. The position will provide nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy to individual student-athletes, teams, and coaches; as well as nutrition focused performance assessment on both an individual and team basis. Additional responsibilities will include oversight and coordination of a student workforce to maintain the central and satellite fueling stations; review, provision and distribution of nutritional supplements to individual student-athletes and teams; as well as coordination of staff/program professional development opportunities. The position will report directly to the Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Nutrition, have a heavy emphasis in football, and serve as the team lead for assigned olympic teams.
Responsibilities include:
* Provide medical nutrition therapy to individual athletes which may include: Individualized pre and post operative nutrition counseling.
* Assessment of individual athlete blood chemistries to address vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
* Nutrition and supplementation strategies to address acute performance issues (cramping, nausea, dehydration, etc.).
* Coordinate with Team Physicians, Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and Sports Performance Coaches to assess the nutritional needs of athletes as it pertains to the return to play process.

The Associate Director will work with another Associate Director to develop and implement strategies and operations for the Global Study Trips program. The Associate Director will advise student leadership teams, develop educational program content, collaborate with faculty, conduct program evaluation, and provide financial and risk management oversight.

Your primary responsibilities* include:
* Advising and coaching MBA student leadership teams as they design and deliver Global Study Trips using experiential learning principles.
* Collaborating with the Global Experiences team to develop and implement experiential international business-focused learning opportunities for students using an intercultural lens to create opportunities for student growth and development.
* Leading and maintaining complex business processes and operations for the Global Study Trips program, including supporting the student leadership and faculty recruitment processes, facilitating connections between students and other GSB partners (alumni relations, executive education, etc.), managing travel provider vendors, and providing program budget oversight.
* Designing and delivering group leadership and intercultural competency training and program information sessions.

JOB PURPOSE:
Take projects from original concept through final implementation on contained risk assignments (projects have mechanisms or managerial controls to minimize risk). Work is typically comprised of 50%-time contribution towards project leadership and 50% as a technical contributor.
