    Charlottesville, VA Jobs

The Leclerc Laboratory at the University of Virginia, Department of Anesthesiology, seeks applications for a Lab and Research Technician 1 or 2, Applicants will be considered for a Lab and Research Technician position 1 or 2 based on the degree of their prior education and laboratory experience. When bleeding occurs, extravascular red blood cells become unstable and release a myriad of neurotoxic molecules. The glymphatic pathway is a special clearance pathway within the brain that facilitates bulk flow washout of molecules to the periphery. This research focuses on how various anesthetic paradigms modulate the glymphatic pathway to augment the clearance of neurotoxic metabolites after hemorrhagic stroke. The experiments proposed utilize cutting-edge in vivo and in vitro techniques and represent a unique research niche that bridges the fields of Anesthesiology and Neuroscience. This position will require the ability to perform both routine lab functions as well as more advanced neuroscience procedures and protocols.
