The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications for Grounds Maintenance Worker.
Perform preventive maintenance and general upkeep of landscaped and turfed areas; roads and walkways; parking lots; lakes, streams, and watersheds; playing fields and recreational facilities; and minor construction related thereto.
Duties/Responsibilities
Performs semi skilled landscaping, grounds maintenance, and roads maintenance tasks in a multi building University complex. This is semi skilled labor calling for a working knowledge of the care of trees, turf, and plants together with some knowledge of maintenance of roads, outdoor facilities, and playing fields using grounds related machinery. This is semi skilled labor calling for operation of trucks, tractors, and powered machines as well as hand tools. All work is directed and inspected by Grounds Maintenance Workers III and Supervisors.
Uses vehicles, tractors, machinery, and hand tools to do seeding, sodding, aerating, weeding, fertilizing, mowing, and trimming turfed and planted areas.
Assists a certified grounds maintenance worker in applying chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides to trees, shrubs and turf.
Operates machines and uses hand tools to maintain and develop outdoor facilities to include playing fields, shelter houses, fences, picnic areas, campgrounds, recreation facilities, fishing areas, nature trails, and fences.
Plants and prunes trees and shrubs.
Cleans and maintains vehicles and equipment.
Uses hand tools to maintain and develop outdoor facilities to include playing fields, shelter houses, picnic areas, campgrounds, recreation facilities, fishing areas, nature trails, and fences.
Maintains roads, walkways, parking lots, and loading docks to include minor paving, patching, grading, ditching, and snow removal.

Required Knowledge and Skills
High school diploma/GED.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
One year of experience in grounds keeping including methods used in planting, cultivation, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs, flowers, and turf.
Operation of ground maintenance equipment including motorized equipment and hand tools and knowledge of routine equipment and methods.
Agricultural background and high mechanical aptitude.
Experience with tractors and trucks.
Knowledge of microcomputers, word processing, spreadsheet, and electronic mail software.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Occasional irregular or prolonged hours may be necessary to complete assigned responsibilities.
Position requires extended hours at any time of the day or night when necessary to complete the responsibilities to remove snow and ice or to perform clean-up work after severe weather or other emergencies.
This position is considered essential. When the University closes due to inclement weather or another emergency, this position is required to report to work to perform snow and/or ice removal or other clean-up work following severe weather or other emergencies.
Travel within University and occasional travel to offsite University locations using a University vehicle is required.

Collaborate with content editors across campus to implement best practices and provide strategic guidance through analytical reports and consultation.
Work within the University's Content Management System (CMS) to develop, build, edit and implement websites and strategies. Produce graphics and edit photos for use in related digital communication projects. Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends in AI and SEO optimization, content strategies, and the analytic tools supporting the execution of those activities.
Lead the ongoing quality assurance (QA) process for the university website, ensuring content accuracy, relevance, and compliance with accessibility standards and functionality across all user environments. This includes proactive content audits, technical troubleshooting, and coordinating departmental review cycles to facilitate necessary updates.
Examine emerging trends in AI, SEO and digital marketing; recommend proactive strategies to keep USI competitive in search and serve as a resource to other staff on how to structure content for both human and machine audiences. Duties/Responsibilities

Apply knowledge of mental health theories, global competencies, psychopathology, and clinical research to establish case conceptualizations and develop client-centered treatment plans for a wide range of presenting concerns within the context of the developmental nature of the student population. Determine the clinically indicated level of care required, the need for specialized services and the ability of Counseling and Psychological Services to meet students' needs in accordance with established policies.
Provides evidence based individual and group intervention designed to assist the entire student population with a wide range of presenting concerns, and with the flexibility to offer these services both in-person and via tele-behavior health.
Work from a time-limited model of psychotherapy and maintain a full caseload (determined in conjunction with the director of Counseling and Psychological Services).
Develop positive therapeutic relationships, assess progress, and explore alternatives as needed.
Provide assessment and treatment services in a sensitive and competent manner to all student populations.
Document all clinical services in a timely manner and in accordance with professional standards.
Assess level of risk, provide appropriate and timely crisis intervention. When clinically indicated, assist, and coordinate higher level of care utilizing community mental health resources (including voluntary and involuntary hospitalization).
Adheres to a scope of practice that is consistent with established competencies as determined by education, training, experience, and legal standards. Provides services consistent with the standard of care for the profession and adheres to all legal and ethical guidelines.
Maintains and enhances professional competencies by attending workshops and conferences, obtaining relevant certifications and through membership(s) in professional associations.
Provides outreach and supportive programming to the university community with an emphasis on mental health awareness.
Provides regular and emergency consultation to faculty, staff, and other concerned parties.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Job Duties

* Reads recipes and/or product directions.
* Estimates food requirements.
* Operates a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, and season and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving and storing.
* Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
* Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
* Keeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.

Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications for HVAC Technician - Part Time.
Understands the functions and means of operation of all building and plant heating, ventilating, air conditioning, lighting, communications, and alarm systems and equipment. Capable of adjusting physical and software components/systems to maintain a comfortable environment in all buildings while minimizing energy use. Makes necessary repairs and perform preventive maintenance in a multi-building complex.
Duties/Responsibilities
Start, stop, and adjust operations of all on line equipment to include boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps and ancillary components.
Perform preventive maintenance checks and services. Makes repairs as found when possible. Reports other issues on a work request or to management.
Read gauges, instruments, and recorders. Understands specified limits of readings and how to react when readings are outside of limits.
Respond to emergencies.
Operate radio.
Advise on preventive maintenance measures and on energy conservation methods.
Clean and paint power plant.
Perform service work on equipment in addition to preventive maintenance.
Assist with snow removal and other weather-related events as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
High school diploma/GED.
Demonstrated judgment in assessing and responding to emergencies required.
Reliability for working with minimum supervision required.
Valid driver's license required.
EPA certification (Level I and Level II or Universal) required, or ability to obtain within first 90 days of employment.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
One year experience in the maintenance or operation of heating, air conditioning, or temperature control systems or related maintenance experience preferred. Education in a related field may substitute for experience.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
Part-time. Standard hours will be scheduled on first shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Travel within University and to offsite University locations using a University vehicle required.
