JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Clinic Manager is an important member of the University Health Services (UHS) team as it assists the medical director with the daily operations of the clinic. This position will be instrumental in defining the mission, goals, budget, and performance standards for the clinic(s) and communicating them to staff. Utilizes knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and systems. Must be able to adapt to changes in healthcare laws, regulations, and technology.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or Related (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of professional experience in billing and coding.
(Three (3) years of professional billing and coding experience preferred.)
LICENSES: Billing and coding certification required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ACTIVITIES:
Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of patient and patient information.
Ability to work effectively within the role independently and with other team members.
Knowledge of business software, billing platforms, ledgers, invoices, procurement cards, and HER systems.
Knowledge of Rev, CPT, and ICD-10CM coding.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to complete work timely.
Ability to understand medical terminology.

Develops standards, provides systems to monitor and evaluate physician office functions, and recommends designing methods to improve functions.
Implements system to document and communicate standards, which includes policies, procedures, and protocol.
Documents and reports to the Medical Director of University Health Services and provides quality assessment and improvement activities, employee competence through performance evaluation, project activity, reviews budget variances, and issues affecting clinic productivity and effectiveness.
Develops and implements policies and procedures to meet state and federal regulations. Assures compliance with corporate compliance policies.
Oversees and manages the day-to-day billing operations.
Designs, implements, and maintains processes for maintaining accurate billing data and new contracting relating to billing and revenue.
Leads and works collaboratively with the EVC Business Office for revenue analysis and forecasting projections.

Patient population served:
The Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit provides high quality and patient/ family-centered care for any cardiothoracic surgery and heart failure patients. Surgeries can include Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), valve replacement, TAVR, Mitral clips and Video Assisted Thoracoscopy (VATS) and Esophagectomy. Heart failure patients are also part of our patient population on 7 Heart.
Unit Staffing:
* Management consists of: Nurse Manager, Team Leaders/Charge Nurses, and Advanced Practice RN
* The staff includes RNs, Nursing Technicians/Certified Nursing Assistants, and Health Unit Coordinators
* 7 Heart works closely with Case Management, Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech Therapy, Dieticians, and Pharmacists.
* In addition, we collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for dedicated Heart failure rounds. We also work with surgeons, hospitalists, medical residents and fellows, and multiple consulting physicians.
Orientation
All RNs complete a centralized hospital and specialized nursing orientation in addition to the unit orientation. You will be paired with a dedicated preceptor during your unit orientation with specialized learning opportunities and shadow experiences.

The RN is responsible for delegating, coordinating, and managing all aspects of nursing care and services provided to the patient and family in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and respectful manner. Product Expertise

Post-Implementation Faculty Support
Serve as a resource for faculty, offering ongoing support and best practices for integrating tools into their teaching, including new product releases and enhancements.
Provide insights on leveraging analytics to track student progress and improve outcomes.
Host regular check-ins with faculty to address challenges, answer questions, and
recommend strategies to maximize platform effectiveness.
Partner with customer engagement and sales teams to identify at-risk partners and develop strategic solutions to retain and strengthen the account relationship.
Regional Presentations and Webinars
Represent Kaplan at regional nursing conferences, workshops, and other regional events by delivering engaging presentations on educational trends and product innovations.
Develop and host webinars for faculty and students on topics such as virtual simulation best practices, NCLEX prep strategies, and advanced nursing certifications.
Be a thought leader by sharing expertise and fostering discussions around the evolution of nursing education.
Develop product-specific resources for partners in collaboration with the academic content team and incorporate these resources into presentations to enhance their relevance and effectiveness.

Recommended Credentials
Master's degree or Equivalent required. Note: Either the Bachelor's or the Master's degree must be in Nursing.
Unencumbered, active RN License Required
5 years of Nursing education experience required or 5 years in clinical practice
Experience in nursing education, including
Info Systems Experience, and/or familiarity with NCLEX and graduate
Proficiency in virtual simulation platforms and data analytics for educational purposes.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to engage both small groups and large audiences.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across departments.

Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% 401k contribution + variable compensation based on the achievement of organizational goals and objectives) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

Provides primary care services to include patient history, physical exam, and treatment plans; performs procedures and medical work within the scope of their training; integrates the work of the clinic with other programs within the agency and in the community to assist clients; acts as Supervising Physician for the Non-Physician Advanced Providers; available for consultation with such staff; shares in office call coverage, as necessary;
Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the practice of medicine, in relation to the Physician's Board Certification; becomes familiar with and complies with all Health Department policies and procedures relating to the management of the Primary Care Program and Homeless Health Care Center and its employees; completes legible medical records in a timely manner including completing accurate and timely charting in the Electronic Medical Record on client visits, including orders, test results and progress notes summarizing client care for continuity of care between visits;
Leads and guides a comprehensive quality improvement process which includes routine auditing of medical records to ensure quality clinical care and that clinical protocols are followed; Participates in continuing education programs and provides evidence of necessary education; leads clinical meetings with advanced providers on clinical protocols/management, operations, and education; conducts provider staff meetings and ensures meeting documentation is maintained. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Graduate Nurse Progressive Care Unit
Remote
Responsible to the Manager for the overall nursing practice of the unit for the shift of assignment. In the absence of the Unit Manager, the GN is responsible to the Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse or the Nursing House Supervisor of the shift. The GN must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through use of the nursing process. This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patient's needs, development of the plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing measures and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatment measures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School education or equivalent.
