    Under supervision by an RN, a Dentist, or a member of the Medical Staff, the LVN is responsible for providing general nursing care to patients. May lead or mentor lower-level team members. Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Supports the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions. Communicates effectively, written and verbally. Possesses analytical thinking this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner. Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient. Meets all training and competency requirements. EDUCATION: High school or GED and graduation from an approved vocational nursing school is required. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Current Texas Nursing license required, CPR is required. Sorts, prioritizes, and manages patient messages and calls; manages the scheduling of patient appointments. Prepares patient for examination, sets up and maintains sterile field, and assists clinical staff with examinations and clinical care, and documents. Assists providers with procedures, performs patient discharges and verifies communication of instructions with patient and family. Maintains assigned work area with supplies and equipment, cleans, stocks and maintains exam rooms, procedure rooms, instruments and equipment; transports patients safely. Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT), documents and reports clinical findings to Registered Nurse (RN) in charge and/or Provider. Performs all other duties as assigned.
