Advertising Copy The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine, the UVM Medical Center and UVM Health Network, is seeking an academic clinician with experience in hematology to join our academic faculty. We are looking for a hematologist to fill a unique and evolving role as a systems-based hematologist in the UVM Health Network. The successful candidate will be motivated to lead and refine the systems-based hematology role at the UVM Health Network inspired by innovative and creative ideas that will help shape the future of systems-based hematology both locally and nationally. The focus of the role will include classical hematology including thrombosis and hemostasis; however, inclusion of malignant hematology will be considered and defined based on candidate experience and interests. The position is available at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Clinical Scholar Pathway. This position involves approximately 80% effort toward clinical care focused on Hematology including thrombosis and hemostasis as well as classical hematology with remaining effort protected for scholarly activities. Integration of malignant hematology into systems- based care will also be considered based on individual expertise and interest. Substantial opportunities exist for collaborative and translational research with investigators at the UVM Larner College of Medicine. Responsibilities will include clinical care for all subspecialties of anesthesia including a mix of pediatric anesthesia, as well as adult general OR, obstetrics, adult neurosurgery, and trauma. Provide clinical anesthesiology care to patients as directed by Department Chair or delegate including main Operating Rooms and ambulatory areas. Will be mix of solo and supervision of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), Anesthesiology Assistants (CAAs) and residents as appropriate. UVMMC is a busy academic hospital with a Level-1 trauma center and we are the only location for tertiary referrals for the catchment area of Vermont and northern upstate New York for all surgeries.
