These roles provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses or other Medical Professional. These positions primarily focus on assisting patients with activities of daily living while also monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes in patient condition. They also play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.
These roles perform a variety of tasks, such as taking patient histories, measuring and monitoring vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with minor procedures.

Medical Assistants provide clinical support, assist with administrative tasks, and provide general support in an ambulatory setting under the direction or supervision of the patient's physician or LIP/RN designee in accordance with policy, procedure and competency to promote

* Organizes and prioritizes daily work assignments to support patient needs, the interdisciplinary team, and operational efficiency.
* Implements age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs as directed by the Health Care Provider (HCP).
* Reinforces patient/family teaching plan based on identified health education needs and the condition and age of the patient through approved educational materials or written instructions.

* Document and capture charges for clinical support services rendered within the patient visit.

Using the guidelines established by the Division, assemble animal cages, bedding and water bottles into setups. Using the established procedures, these setups are autoclaved and used for animals requiring sterile housing. Ensures an inventory of sterile cages are kept on hand to supply the day-to-day demands as well as emergency situations. Unpack feed and bedding off pallets and store appropriately. Keep working area clean and organized and ensure supplies that are needed are on hand at all times. Other duties as assigned.
For barrier facilities or aseptic holding spaces, the employee will autoclave assembled cage setups and accessories used for animals requiring sterile housing. The employee will ensure a sufficient inventory of sterile cages and sterile cage accessories is kept on hand to supply the day-to-day demands of the animal care team, as well as to anticipate emergency situations. The employee will fill water carboys for autoclaving if necessary.
Weekly, unpack feed and bedding off pallets and store in designated storage areas. Test functionality of eyewash stations. Scribes shadow resident physicians and attending physicians and completes all documentation tasks through real time, on-site medical transcription. Also responsible for ensuring thoroughness of medical documentation, coordination and integration of medical tests/labs/imaging for ready access of the physicians.

This is a wage position, with an expectation of 40 hours per week during the academic year and an anticipated start date of early August 2026. Medical Scribes provide clinical assistance to SHW staff and faculty by performing on-site medical transcription. They work directly with patients to obtain patient data and specimens as required by protocols. They enter data into project and medical record databases and assist with documentation. They may accompany physicians on patient encounters to record accurate medical information including notes of communication, past medical records, laboratory results, etc.
Specific Responsibilities may include:
* Scribe for patient visits for a variety of health concerns, including primary care, travel, and dermatology.
