Our technicians provide care under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or a registered nurse to patients receiving renal dialysis treatments at a UVA Medical Center dialysis facility.
Job responsibilities include:
+ Prepares and monitors equipment used for hemodialysis.
+ Maintains an infection-free environment of care.
+ Maintains supplies and equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: Previous health care experience preferred.
Licensure: Certified as a Patient Care Dialysis Technician by a State Agency or Nationally Recognized Certification Program within 18 months of hire date.
American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Criteria for use of the titles of dialysis patient care technician or dialysis care technician. In order to use the titles of dialysis patient care technician or dialysis care technician or administer medications in a Medicare certified renal dialysis facility, a person shall hold one of the following certifications: 1. Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) by the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC); 2. Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) by the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology (BONENT); 3.
