I am currently the Chief of Police at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh since February 1st, 2016. The UWOPD serves a student body of approximately 14,000 students and an academic and support staff of an additional 2000 persons. The Police Department is comprised of 70 sworn officers, Community Service Officers, Dispatchers and Parking Enforcement Officers. In addition to serving as the Chief of Police I am also the Clery Coordinator and Disaster and Emergency Management Director.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Police Department embraces and practices evidence based and community policing on a daily basis. Police Officers partner with academic divisions, residence life, athletics, and dozens of student organizations on a daily basis with the goal of creating lasting relationships, developing and nurturing trust, and problem solving. Police Officers at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh are culturally fluent and police in a caring, compassionate and respectful way.

Prior to joining the UWOPD I spent 26 years with the Milwaukee Police Department. During this time I commanded the Homicide Division, Violent Crimes Division, Communications Division, Internal Affairs Division and retired as Assistant Chief with oversight of the North Command Division that consisted of four police districts on the North side of Milwaukee.

Policing is my passion and I respect everybody that chooses to wear the badge and serve the public. However, my greatest passion is my my wife and 3 boys they are my true purpose in life.
