The Department of Medical Physics is seeking a Research Administrative Specialist to join our friendly, supportive and exceptional team and provide research administrative support. This position serves as the primary contact for post-award support to faculty, researchers and trainee investigators. This position will support a funding portfolio for the Department of Medical Physics. Responsibilities include working with principal investigators and research staff to budget, monitor expenditures, create projections and reconcile financial data for accounts. This will include processing and/or approving accounting transactions.

Medical physics was established as a specialty focus within the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, creating the first and only basic science Department of Medical Physics of its kind in the country. Faculty within the department have a scholarly focus on discoveries and inventions in imaging and therapy systems, that lead to scientific translation into clinical trials or to industrial translation to create products through collaboration or via new venture entrepreneurship. Medical physics is led by 30 core faculty with 45 affiliate and 14 emeritus faculty members, with many having joint appointments in clinical departments such as Radiology and Human (Radiation) Oncology.
Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $60,000 annually but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Position Overview
The Research Assistant will support a faculty-led study examining the acoustic effects of individual vocal characteristics among members of the UWSP Concert Choir in choral standing formations. The project includes individual vocal recordings, ensemble recording sessions, and the administration of participant surveys. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in music, acoustics, research methods, audio engineering, or data collection.
Key ResponsibilitiesIndividual Recording Sessions (Winter 2026):
Operate recording equipment during one-on-one data collection sessions.
Ensure microphones are positioned at a standardized and consistent distance.
Guide participants through a set of predetermined singing tasks.
Maintain accurate records of each session and follow all IRB-approved protocols.
Choral Recording Sessions (Spring 2026):
Assist with logistical setup for large-group recordings.
Help direct participants into standing formations
Support survey administration using Qualtrics
Record observations and assist with troubleshooting during the session.
Data Management (Spring 2026):
Organize audio files, survey responses, and participant records.
Coordinate with the faculty statistician conducting data analysis, who anticipates using paired t-tests for the comparison of formation conditions.
Ensure all data follow confidentiality and storage guidelines.
Assist with UPDC grant compliance
Management and storage of physical instruments used for recordings
QualificationsRequired:
Strong organizational and communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work respectfully and professionally with UWSP students, staff, and faculty.
Reliability and punctuality
Willingness to learn recording procedures and follow research protocols.
Ability to complete CITI training and any IRB-related paperwork in a timely fashion.
It is preferred that the research assistant is not a member of UWSP Concert Choir

Background in music, audio recording, or choral performance.
Experience with microphones or audio engineering.
Familiarity with Qualtrics or survey administration.
Interest in music perception, acoustics, or research methodology.
Time Commitment
40 hours total over the course of the semester. Concentrated on two weeks of late February or Early March for individual recordings and one week in late April or early May for the ensemble recording.
Majority of recordings will take place between 11 AM - 12 PM Monday-Thursday, with additional hours of task-based, flexible work outside those times.

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Recruits student-athletes for participation in intercollegiate athletics.
* Cooperates with academic advisers to support the academic progress of the student-athlete. Ensures that athletes reach their academic goals by monitoring class attendance and ensuring that they receive academic support as necessary.
* Prepares the student-athletes for competition through planning, scheduling, and conducting well-organized practices and contests.
* Plans and directs the training of student-athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill levels to determine appropriate team positions. Conducts in-season and off-season team practice and conditioning programs including skills training and weight and conditioning training.
* Works closely with the Athletic Director Dean of the College of Integrated Studies, and other school administrators, faculty, and staff to assure student-athletes are academically eligible for a given sport.

Closely monitors academic, conduct and physical requirements for each student-athlete. * Assists in the development and implementation of meaningful professional development activities designed to enhance the skills of all Athletic Department personnel.

The Vice Provost for Enrollment Management (VPEM) provides leadership in planning, developing, executing, and assessing a strategic undergraduate enrollment management plan for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The VPEM is responsible for organizing and creating a vision for the Division of Enrollment Management (DEM). The units currently within the Division, including Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment, Student Financial Aid, and Registrar, as well as an applied research unit (SSTAR Lab), provide foundational support and services for the academic infrastructure throughout the student lifecycle. The mission of the Division of Enrollment Management is to attract, enroll, and support the most talented students. The Division consists of over 200 full-time employees, 50 part-time employees and 130 student employees; it has an operating budget of $25.6 million and administers a financial aid program consisting of federal, state, institutional, and private funds that exceed $600 million annually.
The VPEM is responsible for providing an administrative infrastructure that documents student learning and success from recruitment through graduation and beyond. As part of the overall management of the various units, the VPEM will provide supervision and guidance to the division's directors, which will involve promoting best practices in hiring and retention, performance management (individual annual performance reviews), review of professional development plans, work area plans, and progress reports in accordance with UW System and campus policies. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring effective communication, dissemination of information, and proactive program development within the offices.
The VPEM serves on the Provost's leadership team and, in collaboration with colleagues under the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and in the Office of Data, Academic Planning and Institutional Research (DAPIR), leads the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the undergraduate enrollment management strategy that includes attracting and retaining successful
UW-Madison undergraduate students and aligns with University priorities and adheres to the wider policy environment. The VPEM will work closely with the provost and other campus leaders to develop and implement enrollment strategies driven by institutional priorities and provide leadership in fulfilling the University's recruitment and retention goals.
The VPEM oversees the management of the DEM budgets and develops best practices and procedures that allow the division not only to meet its administrative obligations and maintain a balanced budget, but to creatively introduce new initiatives in alignment with the goals and objectives of campus leadership. The VPEM also works closely with other campus leaders, including the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, to assess and, as necessary, modify existing and develop new approaches to the undergraduate student experience and student success.
The ideal candidate will be a creative, experienced leader who is able to serve as an effective spokesperson for the mission, vision, and goals of the DEM, as well as the University.

Work in the laboratory focuses on the molecular mechanisms of DNA metabolism and involves molecular biology, structural biology, biochemistry, genetics, and genomics. Other responsibilities include developing and fostering relationships with departments that serve underserved populations, as well as belonging focused student organizations and groups; developing procedures with AB&C campus partners to better respond to student mental health needs; providing consultation, outreach, and training to AB&C offices/staff. This position will have a primary office within CTC and a secondary location within a partnered AB&C office. The Counselor will also participate in staff, student affairs, and university committees. Similar to all staff at the CTC, the successful candidate will work to make UWL a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, and they will do so in compliance with ethical, legal, and accreditation guidelines.
This position is full-time between August and May, and part-time (0.5 FTE or 20 hours per week) in June and July, with primarily counseling treatment services being provided in summers.
* Typical office hours (7:45am-4:30pm). Evening hours may be required as we expand our services (e.g., one evening/week), with a schedule adjustment made to maintain an average of 40 hours per week onsite.
