    Job Description SummaryNOAA Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (LMRCSC) The Department of Natural Sciences invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month tenure-track or tenured faculty position of NOAA LMRCSC Distinguished Research Scientist. The Department of Natural Sciences offers B.S. degrees in various disciplines, and M.S and Ph.D. interdisciplinary programs in Marine-Estuarine Environmental Sciences (MEES), and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Toxicology.     Job Description SummaryOrganization Summary Statement: The Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), based at the University of Maryland College Park, was established in 2018 under the auspices of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (USDI) to be a strategic asset for research and development in social systems, autonomy and augmentation, and advanced computing. One of only 15 designated Department of Defense University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) in the nation and the only UARC focused on supporting the intelligence community, ARLIS conducts both unclassified and classified research spanning from basic to applied system development and works to serve the US Government as an independent and objective trusted agent. ARLIS research is driven by a cadre of research scientists and engineers, faculty research specialists and project engineers, further supported by senior University of Maryland faculty and a consortium of university partners. Research is typically conducted through teams of e.g. social scientists, computer scientists, psychologists, linguists, cognitive neuroscientists, applied mathematicians, political scientists, policy analysts, and systems engineers. Our Research Scientists are primarily involved in research with a focus on creating knowledge and carry the title of Assistant, Associate, or Full Research Scientist. The research part of promotion package resembles that of tenure-track faculty in publications, securing funding, etc., albeit at a somewhat reduced scale. Career experience in industry and/or government/military may be an important component in the appointment package. ARLIS seeks research scientists (in the Assistant, Associate, and full ranks) to commit effort on its projects.     Job Summary: The NYU Program of Nutrition at Steinhardt and the Institute of Human Development and Social Change (IHDSC) are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to support Dr. Angela Trude and the OPT-FRESH research team. This role will provide comprehensive involvement in all aspects of the project, including protocol development, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of study findings. The Postdoctoral Associate will devote 12 person-months of effort each year to the project, Data Management and Sharing activities, assisting the Data Manager with data curation and documentation. Project Overview: OPT-FRESH is a 5-year NIH-funded intervention trial addressing gaps in healthy food access among low-income families. Using the multiphase optimization strategy (MOST), the study tests three intervention components designed to reduce barriers to online healthy food purchases: 1) weekly text messages to improve trust in online grocery services; 2) weekly match of up to $10 as a financial incentive for purchasing FVL online; and 3) weekly instant shoppable grocery lists of tailored meal suggestions using SNAP-Ed recipes. OPT-FRESH will provide a unique opportunity to identify effective, scalable, and efficient strategies that could be used to reach the over 44 million people in the U.S., including six million children, experiencing food insecurity, thus addressing important social determinants of health that explain health disparities related to cardiovascular disease. Specific Responsibilities: Support the PI and research team in all aspects of study design, protocol development, and implementation. Conduct data collection, management, and analysis, including qualitative and quantitative methods. Assist the Data Manager with Data Management and Sharing activities (e.g., data curation, documentation, compliance with NIH data-sharing requirements). Contribute to manuscript writing, grant proposals, and dissemination of findings through academic presentations, policy briefs, and community reports. The Assistant/Associate Research Scientist will support ARLIS's applied research efforts in computer vision and cognitive/affective science. This role is focused on designing, developing, and evaluating advanced computer vision algorithms and prototypes that address real-world defense and national security challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in computational modeling and AI/ML systems, contributing to both early-stage research and deployable solutions. Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
