My qualifications as a leader in higher education administration includes nearly 20 years of progressive management experiences in diverse institutional settings including the Oregon Health & Science University, University of New Mexico Health Science Center, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Harvard University School of Public Health, and Florida A and M University School of Allied Health Sciences. Success in each of these diverse and complex educational settings is based on: 1) an ability to establish alliances with an array of stakeholders including faculty, students, staff, elected officials, policy makers, local, state, and national government agencies, foundations, not-for-profit and community-based organizations, and residents; 2) strong interpersonal communication and listening skills leading to authentic collaborations and partnerships; 3) solid writing, personnel, budget, program development, and time management skills; and 4) creative program builder delivering timely and efficacious responses to local community needs and changes in regional or national trends in health care policy, public health practice, and community-based research.

Brian Pietrewicz is a Deputy CIO at UNM and is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
