Akerman LLP seeks a Conflicts Counsel to assist the firm's General Counsel's Office with conflict of interest and risk management matters. The Conflicts Counsel is responsible for daily review, analysis and resolution of conflicts and other issues related to firm acceptance of new clients and new matters, as well as interface with the firm's General Counsel and attorneys regarding approval of new clients and matters. Responsibilities include the analysis of conflict of interest reports for all new firm representations to identify potential conflict problems, resolution of conflict of interest issues (including drafting necessary waivers and other documents) related to new clients and new matters, review of client outside counsel guidelines and assisting with assessment of firm's ability to comply. The Conflicts Counsel will handle additional assignments from the firm's General Counsel's office and firm administration, as needed.
The position requires a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and bar membership, as well as 3+ years of practice experience as a lawyer in a mid to large-sized law firm. Qualified candidates must possess basic knowledge of conflict-of-interest principles under professional responsibility rules, and have excellent analytical, organizational and written and oral communication skills. Experience in the area of conflict of interest law and/or professional responsibility is preferred. Candidates must have availability to handle urgent and confidential matters and situations, including nights and weekends, as needed. This position can be resident in any of the firm's office locations. Hybrid and remote work arrangements are available. This position will work solely with the General Counsel's Office on firm internal matters.

PURPOSE: The Permanency Adoption Specialist is responsible for the completion of the adoption and/or guardianship subsidy packets in a timely manner. They will collaborate with DCFS, assigned Foster Care Case Manager, Foster Care Supervisor, foster parents, selected adoption attorney, youth and other identified supports to achieve permanency for youth involved in the Illinois child welfare system.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Refer to the updated organizational chart for reporting structure and responsiblities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Completes and complies all DCFS subsidy paperwork and with accurateness by required timeframes of completion.
Completes all Caritas Family Solutions paperwork and complies with program expectations as related to the position.
Communicates regularly with the assigned case manager and foster care case manager supervisor to ensure there is effective communication.
Communicates regularly with the assigned case manager and foster care case manager supervisor to ensure accurate information is given to the adoptive parent i.e., the status of the adoption.
Completes a review of the case file and SACWIS information
Assists the assigned case manager in obtaining information and documentation needed to complete the subsidy paperwork.
Communicates with adoptive parents to obtain any needed information in order to complete the subsidy paperwork.
Coordinates with DCFS adoption unit and adoption attorney for review/corrections and scheduling the finalization date.
Troubleshoots adoptions that are past deadlines so that they can move forward.
Assists in maintaining tracking systems and ensures completion of all paperwork for assigned adoption cases.

The Clinician is responsible for supporting parent-child visitation for families in their homes and communities. Responsibilities include initial intake assessments, assessment tools, visitation plans, reporting, and facilitating parent debriefings. The Clinician will initiate and maintain ongoing communication with the families in a culturally sensitive manner, as well as relatives, resource parents, and DCP&P staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Engaging
Initiates and maintains ongoing communication with families in a culturally sensitive manner
utilizing a family's preferred language taking into consideration a family's faith and culture. Schedules and conducts visits in the least-restrictive, most home-like location while ensuring the safety of the children.
Assessing
Uses a process to gather information which includes reviewing collateral information and inquiring about family's natural supports; completes required assessment tools including but not limited to bio-psychological assessments, Rose Wentz Matrix and SVS Caregiver Surveys and documents contacts with families in agency's progress notes and DCP&P contact sheets.
Active Listening
Creates an environment that empowers family members, including parents, children, and caregivers to communicate their goals and needs.
Teaming
Advocates for parents/families as necessary and supports them in advocating for themselves. Links the family to community resources and formal and informal supports and coordinates with DCP&P, sharing relevant information with DCP&P staff, other providers, and supports. Facilitates visit planning meetings and participates in other relevant meetings.
Therapeutic Intervening
Uses clinical interventions and trauma informed approaches to promote behavioral change in caregivers and children through education, modeling, reinforcement, and empowerment.
Coaching
Enhances parental skills by goal setting, modeling, mentoring, reinforcement and feedback and reflection through a trauma-informed perspective. Prepares for each visit with caregivers reviewing goals.
Education and Certification Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in social work, counseling, or other related area.
Minimum of one (1) year of work experience with children and families, particularly families involved with the child welfare system and/or affected by trauma.
Experience working with diverse populations.
License: Valid professional license (LPC, LAC, LSW, LCSW). May be in process of obtaining licensure

The Social Worker will engage in trauma-informed, client-centered practice while collaborating closely with attorneys, case managers, and community partners to reduce barriers and support client safety and stabilization.

What You'll Do
· Conduct intakes and comprehensive assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and barriers related to domestic violence.
· Create individualized service plans in collaboration with clients, including establishing goals, timelines, follow-up, and reassessment.

MAJOR DUTIES
1. Patient Care and Documentation
Functions as a full-time integrated team member in the primary care clinic using the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model of service delivery. Screens and assesses patients, and performs PCBH model appropriate biopsychosocial evaluations using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to clinical, clinical health, and primary care psychology. Provides targeted assessment and evaluation of functional status focused in the context of the presenting problem. Conducts brief assessments and formulates evidence-based interventions appropriate to a primary care setting for a wide range of behavioral health conditions, chronic medical conditions, and health behaviors affecting medical conditions. Provides evaluation, intervention and relapse prevention services in appointments lasting no more than 30 minutes for initial and follow-up visits. Uses a stepped-care approach to maximize delivery of care within the PCMH. Triage and refers patients to Specialty Behavioral Health Care when services required exceed the BHC scope of practice. Assists with implementation and monitoring of treatment plans with Primary Care Managers (PCMs) and other primary care team members. Use objective and measurable outcomes to evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments if appropriate for increased adherence and efficacy. Provide high level expertise in human behavior as a primary care team member to develop and support specific clinical pathways or best practice programs for targeted patient groups (e.g., patients with acute stress symptoms, chronic medical conditions, insomnia). Provides concise documentation of care and recommendations in patient's medical record beginning in the appointment and completed in no more than 72 hours after the patient is seen.
2. Consultation and Team Based Care
Provides timely and succinct feedback to PCMs regarding consultation findings and recommendations as directed by the current DHA PCBH Administrative Instruction and DHA Procedures Manual. Determines if patient is appropriate to receive PCBH model services in the primary care setting. Provides ongoing consultation services for a subset of patients who would benefit from periodic, regular behavioral health monitoring and intervention for sustaining improvement and preventing relapse (i.e., continuity consultation). Participates in all PCMH activities to include huddles, provider meetings, peer review, and trainings. Actively works with PCMH team to identify patients who are appropriate for BHC services and facilitates processes to increase same-day “warm handoff” of patients from PCMs to BHC. Works to increase overall penetration into the enrolled clinic population by targeting common conditions with behavioral components that are amenable to BHC intervention. Performs daily activities to increase BHC clinical productivity (e.g. scrubbing PCM appointment lists, circulating in the clinic and interacting with staff, being vocal in morning huddles etc.)
3. Educational Activities
Develops, teaches, and provides oversight for classes that promote education and skill-building to enhance psychological and physical health, and promote behavioral change related to improved health status. Conducts trainings for the primary care clinic to increase referrals and promote understanding of the role of the BHC.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Family Specialist (L1) is responsible for fostering a safe and trauma-informed environment in which supervised visits take place between the visiting party and child(ren). The Specialist is responsible for conducting observational visits with families and documenting visits in real time. The Specialist must remain neutral and professional when conducting observational visits and may need to offer support and crisis de-escalation to families as needed. The specialist will coach families using strength-based methodologies to support the overall well-being of families and children's progress towards goals.
Parenting Time Observation
Actively adhere to the six core principles of trauma-informed care and promote a trauma-informed culture and healing-centered treatment.
Observes and records interactions during supervised visits. Intervenes as necessary.
Documents all contacts, including visits and exchanges.
Completes accurate and factual documentation of all visits.
Follows orders as set forth by the referring court.
Ensures the safety and security of all participants.
Must be able to deal with difficult people from a diverse population effectively.
Must be able to prioritize problems to meet all requirements and demands.
Maintains communication with leadership regarding any changes, issues, or concerns in the provision of service.
Works collaboratively and communicates appropriately with other staff members.
Attends and participates in team meetings, staff meetings, and supervision as scheduled.
Participates in training and professional development to maintain professional licensure, enhance skills and knowledge base, and comply with training regulations.
Responds respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, classes, race, ethnic backgrounds, and religions in a manner that recognizes, affirms, and values the worth of individuals, families, and communities and protects and preserves the dignity of each.
Educates parents on safety and risk awareness, increasing natural support, fatherhood, and improving parenting skills.
Coach parenting skills based on promising practices and evidence-based models.
Provides advocacy and assistance to parents and caregivers in negotiating barriers that get in the way of them supporting the children in their home (financial, housing, food security, transportation, schools, health care, etc.)
Compliance
Maintains regular contact with stakeholders involved in client caseload to ensure communication about program participation and progress to goals to support client's success best.
Maintain 50% of work hours in direct contact with parents and caregivers participating in the program and assigned to caseload.
Monitor client engagement in services and communicate gaps and methods for re-engagement.
Conducts assessments with outcome tools to understand needs and support identifying and achieving goals.
Complete documentation promptly, accurately, consistently, and according to agency contractual agreements and COA standards.
Adheres to ethical standards of professionalism, including maintaining confidentiality of each child and their family, in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.
Working outside of standard office hours, including evenings and weekends, is also required.
This role is office, and community-based and requires frequent travel throughout the community to support program recruitment, events, and outreach. Office responsibilities may be a mix of hybrid (in-person, online). Working outside of standard office hours, including evenings and weekends, is also required.
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, Criminal Justice or related Human Services area preferred.
3+ years related work experience supporting services for kids and families.
Valid driver's license.
Knowledge of case management and mental health billing.
Knowledge of peer-to-peer support and/or mentoring.
Strong coaching ability with the capability to customize a developed program to meet the needs of varying customers.
