* Medical Technologist
* Med Lab Technician

A caregiver in this role works days, 8:00am-4:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role, will:
* Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
* Maintain regulatory knowledge and awareness as it pertains to specific job duties.
* Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
* Assume responsibility for and take action regarding any quality control or quality assurance issues as it pertains to specific job duties.
* Maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
* Assume responsibility for good documentation practices and maintain clear and legible records.
* Perform proficiency testing in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations i.e. analyze proficiency survey sample in the same manner as a patient specimens, no communication with other CLIA laboratories, complete record retention and accurate documentation and result reporting.
* Assume responsibility for participation in continuing education, professional development and required annual competency assessment.
* Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
* Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, Clinical Consultant, or Laboratory Director.
* May function as an educator and provides instruction and training in theory, technical skills, safety protocols, and the application of laboratory test protocols to students, employees, residents, etc.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
* Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field OR meets the CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel grandfathering clauses
* Licensed in the State of Florida at the technologist levels
* One or more of Microbiology, Immunohematology or other licenses
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
* Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT or MLS) or certification eligible from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)

As a Shared Laboratory Research Assistant working in Glassware Core, you will help facilitate this vision by performing a variety of activities, functioning as a key support to operations and research customers. Key responsibilities include collecting, processing, and preparing glassware for sterilization, as well as re-stocking sterile glassware to ensure researchers have the tools needed to carry out their work. This role is essential in maintaining efficient laboratory operations and supporting the success of research activities.
This position is an excellent entry into Research within an exciting, ever-evolving healthcare setting.
This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days varying between 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. approximately 2-3 days per week depending on workload.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Perform various procedures or SOPs to carefully operate and conduct maintenance of core equipment.
* Notify senior personnel or a supervisor of equipment malfunction or other issues that need immediate attention.
* Perform quality assurance on all assigned activities per procedures or SOPs.
* Assist with collecting, receiving, processing, transporting, or storing supplies from various labs.
* Receive/answer and process departmental communications through iLab ordering system, email, phone and/or voicemail or other method.
* Perform appropriate cleaning procedures for specific areas and maintain adequate stock of supplies as needed.
* Complete three months of on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and Cleveland Clinic policies.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* High School Diploma/GED
* Complete three months on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and CCF policies
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Customer service skills
* Ability to stand for long periods of time and occasionally carry heavy items
* Computer skills
* Lab experience
* Interested in sciences
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to transport equipment and/or animals weighing up to 75 pounds
* Ability to understand and follow detailed scientific or medical instructions given by investigators and/or veterinarians
* Ability to work in an environment of unpleasant odors and sights
* Subject to animal bites and scratches
* May be required to work with biological, chemical and radiation hazards after proper training.
